Lucky you weren’t given the Coventry away strip instead. Possibly the worst kit ever. Yeah, full kits did come in boxes, I was given the Liverpool kit for Christmas by my parents. I have to this day no idea why, must have been on sale.

Didn’t own but I played for a team where our strips were the previous year’s NUFC 1st team kit. I played Centre Forward and can always say that I scored a hat trick wearing the famous number 9 on my debut at the training ground at Benwell. It was Micky Quinn’s Greenhalls kit.

Something else, I always generated more power heading to the right than the left, not massively but enough.

I’m left footed/ right handed. Played Left Wing then Centre Forward and hitting a ball cleanly with my right was a real lottery. I could practice and strike the ball “mechanically” but nothing felt natural about it. I believe you’re either naturally two footed or not - you either have to think about it or you don’t. I do think that left footers hit the ball slightly differently, often seems a “better” connection somehow.

Yeah, 30 mins far too short to cover that period, disappointing program. And yeah, Blackburn was the game for me as well. Late in the season season 1 up with 4 minutes left and we somehow lost. Forget all the other points we threw away (and there were plenty) those 3 points made the difference in a game we had in our hands. It never ceases to amaze me that the players mention Man U at home and away to Liverpool, they were hard games. Blackburn was the game.
