Can’t help but feel that Southgate messed up. You can’t defend an early lead against better teams and do so for 90 minutes. At some point they work out a way and you start giving chances and if one is taken it is incredibly difficult to get yourself on the front foot. Southgate was reactionary instead of grabbing the moment and giving his side the opportunity to carry a threat. I’ll not even start on Southgate putting Rashford and Sancho on in the 30th minute of ET and expecting 2 young lads to score the penalties to win the Euros. Ffs Gareth you know the pressure, you know what it is to miss and you weren’t brought on with the single expectation to score.
