Martin Dúbravka (now playing for Burnley)

Should have put a man on the post for Mata’s goal. From where it was any shot that beat the wall was likely to go in; still shaking my head at Diame for conceding the free kick. -
At least the positive is that Ashley won’t be thinking his motivational pizza has turned the season around and that we’re good enough to turn a poor Man U over on their own patch. From where we were a modicum of quality and we’d have been good enough.
-
Had the Ref given the penalty and we’d gone 3 up it was game over. The free kick Diame gave away for their first was just plain stupid. You could see what may happen if they scored with around 20 minutes to go, our lack of quality cost us. Btw, Atsu has no place on a PL pitch. Told the missus that Mata would score from the free kick and that Sanchez would score in injury time. It’s what happens to us. Any quality off the bench would have made such a difference.

That’s a penalty

Decided to load my defence with Watford players as they’ve decent fixtures coming up..........

It’s probably fairly close to where most of the players live and it does have a private room. I presume they’re not in a booth or window table. They should pop over to The Diamond and see if Terry Mac or Big Al is in. Would be funny if they had to choose from the Happy Hour menu mind.
-
Wtf have they been doing either side of the halfway line; that’s shocking in this day and age.
-
Jimmy wasn’t a happy bunny mind.

thats as impressively bad an own goal as I've seen in a long time. Also those fucking comments good grief If you watch the highlights the keeper makes a great save to stop another belter going in.

Don’t know what to say really

We were set up to lose today; we were never in it, never showed any ambition and allowed Leicester to find space all over the pitch. Rafa is playing games, we’re going down at the moment, Rafa’s parting gift may be to rid us of Ashley at the cost of going down. I’m fine with that but it’s bloody awful to watch. How Atsu stayed on for 90 minutes I’ll never know, swapping Gayle for Rondon looks utter madness just now. Rafa has to give the match going fans something to hold on to. Today was desperate.

Absolutely no idea what Rafa was thinking today.

People got them on EBay already ?

I’d have thought that the club would have told the agents to find the players a new club. It would be incredible if the agents thought this meant that they could just go awol, surely they’d have clarified what was expected if they failed to secure transfers. If the players have breached their contracts they deserve to get their comeuppance, if not then the club deserve what comes their way.

Some movement on that mind. Completely did the keeper.

Kind of a predecessor to the UEFA cup. A quick wiki search shows that UEFA don't recognise as a major honour it but FIFA do. The Fairs Cup was a massive deal by the time we won it, some antiquated qualifying rules our own FA did didn’t change the until after it was the UEFA Cup. My dad and brother went to all the home games and my grandad went over to Feyenoord with my uncle going up to Rangers for the 1st leg of the semi. Sports Night showed the highlights of both legs of the final which in itself was indication that it was a major trophy. Took this from elsewhere. Uefa took over the Fairs Cup in 1971 because it was such a big competition, our FA continued the 1 club 1 city until 1974 despite it being abolished by the Fairs Cup some years earlier. The Fairs Cup was founded in 1955 (just a year after the European Cup) by a committee including Uefa officials, including the Vice President. The Cup Winners Cup was not started until 1960 and was an inferior tournament with many European leagues not having a domestic cup and others where the domestic cup was held in low regard. In 1968 Uefa decided that the Cup Winners Cup would come second after the European Cup in an attempt to give it more prestige over a competition that wasn’t theirs; the European domestic leagues widely recognised the Fairs Cup as the better competition with 64 teams in it and Uefa took over the Fairs Cup in 1971 but would not lose face by changing the ranking. Given that Uefa abandoned the Cup Winners Cup tells you which was the more prestigious competition in real terms. This is a great piece and encapsulates what The Fairs Cup meant https://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=55836819&postcount=942#/topics/982536?page=95

Lad who threw the bottle is clearly identifiable. Absolutely stupid thing to do, half arsed toss which glances off the player and the lad will rightfully get a ban for it. What on Earth was he thinking?

My stream is miles behind but that was naughty on Perez

He looked absolutely fed up on Saturday; his body language was not good. I sit reasonably close to the dugout and he appeared very subdued. He’s probably counting the days until he can leave now. That second half was horrendous.

The bogs in the Milburn have also been given a splash of navy paint and the tv has been tuned in (still unwatchable unless you are within 10 foot).

Arsenal were absolutely shocking in the first half yet we didn’t create much. Hayden and Murphy may as well have been sitting next to me; Rafa has to take some responsibility today. Their first goal was wholly avoidable, gave Arsenal belief and knocked us more than it should have. I took Sky’s enhanced bet today as soon as I saw our line up. I actually think there is a player in Murphy; Hayden however looked over weight and needs shipping out, very poor.
-
Second half was very poor, Rafa should have changed it as soon as the second goal went in. The players spent the next 5 minutes walking around pointing fingers at each other. It wasn’t Rafa’s finest hour. Arsenal were awful in the first half.

He should have just gone to his GP explained that he was in a rubbish job with no support and was stressed out as he’d been demoted twice. He’d have got a Fit Note for a month no problem. Be great if he produces one.
