Completely forgot they were playing tonight
  2. We couldn’t compete physically with then and they have better technical players. No surprise we lost, I do hate Noble and that cheating git up front. Noble couldn’t have complained if he’d have been sent off; awful challenge intended to injure.
  3. Durham has always had loads of Newcastle fans, it would be a mistake imo to ignore that fact, Washington too far that matter. Seems like Mackem propaganda about their support may be fooling some. Let the Mackems have a dig if they want it shouldn’t stop us celebrating where our support comes from.
  4. Kane should have been off for that challenge; it was intentionally excessive. Lejeune had looked very impressive up to that point and it took him a long long time to recover from it.
  5. Think he was getting frustrated on Saturday with Almiron straying from his expected position. He had a few words with Rafa at one point as he was clearly looking for Almiron down the line and he wasn’t there. That’ll all quickly improve.
  6. He’s always been very good technically, the biggest improvement to his game is ball retention and being stronger in possession. He was far too easy to knock off the ball and this regularly left us exposed as he’d lose possession in the middle of the park and we’d be caught out of shape when he lost it. It’ll be interesting to see how he links in with Almiron against a proper team with 11 men.
  7. If he turns out as good as Clarkie or Stevie Watson/Alan Thompson id be happy think clarkie was decent but a tad overrated tbh. think watson, thompson and even elliot (before he left us the first time) were better. Nah, Clark was better than all of those (though he played a different position to all of those) if he’d had any pace he’d have been top notch. A Sunday side I used to play for had our home games at the old training ground at Benwell for a while, Clark was playing for the young un’s on the pitch next to us at one of the games and I swear that our game stopped and watched as he went past about 5 opposition players with the minimum of fuss. He did really good jobs for the mackems and Fulham.
  8. We wouldn’t pay £51M for any player, how the fuck we managed to spend £20M on Almiron is still a mystery. We’ll end up with another loan as our main striker next season and Joselu will still be on the bench. I’d imagine Rondon would want to stay but we’ll haggle our way out of it.
  9. They’ll have to keep Rashford moving at HT or he’s going to struggle to get moving again.
  10. Ridiculous that Lingard was brought on in the first place.
  11. Can’t see Shelvey getting back in tbh. Longstaff is more mobile, more aware and is making better decisions, he can mix his passing up and with Lejuenne and Scharr behind him he has the option to lay off to them for them to ping a ball. Lejuenne hits a cross field diagonal Kenny Wharton would be proud of......for me, Longstaff and Ki would potentially make a good pairing. Longstaff likes sitting a little deeper and Ki would benefit by playing a little higher up the pitch. Hayden is doing well however, I think Ki would link in with Perez and Almiron much better.
  12. Sky enhanced came in again - us, Leeds and Norwich 11/2. That’s over £600 up since November. I’ll say it again; if you can pick the right result of the dodgy game then you’re getting around 11/2 for a home win, 13/2 for an away win and 7/1 - 9/1 for a draw. It’s fantastic value as the other 2 games are usually gimmees
  13. He adds something different to what we had and he’s got real pace. He should have scored; if he’d shifted the ball to the left he’d have rounded the keeper or if he’d simply shot low the keeper wouldn’t have stopped it such was the pace he was going. It was a shocking tackle on him and it was great to see him get up and get on with it. Like the look of him ?
  14. Genuine question; how many on here have seen him in the flesh playing? His stats are a fantastic, he gets all over the pitch, he finds space, he doesn’t panic, he has a range of passing and he reads the game. The amount of second balls he picks up is so impressive; he is the pivot in our midfield and he is the player the team look for in tight situations. He may not be eye catching but I really do believe he has a chance of being a top player.
  15. This lad has real talent for what he does. He could be a top player, in a good side, in a few years, he has the potential to be a star. Don’t understand some of the comments I’ve read on here, I’m really excited by what I’ve seen so far. This lad looks the real deal for his position.

I was in the Fulwell End with my best mate who supports Sunderland. There were Newcastle fans in a few groups dotted around the ground. My mate later stood with me in The Gallowgate for the Play Off semi final
