No shite songs please, no need. -
Our home form is unacceptable, it couldn’t be worse if we’d been set up to give a go against the “lesser” teams. I can’t understand why Rafa refuses to be more positive and if we get ahead go more cautious and play on the counter attack. If we were getting result at home nobody would complain but we’ve been bloody awful all season. I don’t accept any argument about the lack of quality, there’s some awful sides out there and we allow them to get footholds in games at SJP week in week out.

Pick that out

Late 70’s through till late 80’s mate, I’m ashamed to say I joined in as it was the norm.....no one said a thing. It was disgusting and I look back in shame as I just followed the crowd with monkey chants not knowing the human impact I was doing , Newcastle fans were up there with the worst in the country in truth. Ashamed tbh Purely because Newcastle was a White city it was not very diverse or multicultural at all, it was not a Leeds or a Birmingham,London, Liverpool,Manchester etc that had multi cultural aspects hence the deeply racist element to the city in that era Racist chanting towards players and opposition fans was the norm even into the 90s and most of us who are in our mid 40s and older if they are being honest would say they joined in New years day 1985 when we beat the mackems 3-1 they had Gary Bennett and Howard Gayle both sent off ( both black) and they got absolute dogs abuse that day Bennett and Gayle got slaughtered that day and more so because it was Sunderland. Gayle was very popular with the Newcastle fans, it was a very different time, I remember drawing 2-2 at Grimsby with the away end shaking with ‘he’s black he’s brown he’s playing for the toon Howard Gayle’. It was sung as a show of support for him and it was taken that way. I’m convinced a lot of the chanting wasn’t racially motivated but was simply sung to wind the opposition up so we’ve also got the classic ‘he’s a dwarf a dwarf’ song. You have to remember that shows like Love Thy Neighbour, On The Buses, Til Death Do Us Part and The Black and White Minstral Show had either stopped being broadcast not long before or were still being shown on repeat. What was considered acceptable was very different. I did witness monkey chants, not loads but they did happen, that’s kinda where some drew the line at that time. That Sunderland game was the worst, not helped by the fact that it was NYD, it was a derby, we hadn’t played each other for 5 years and iirc Bennett had been kicking anything that moved. The place was absolutely rocking and it took off with the scoreline and 2 sendings off. As I say, different times.

Awful penalties here

Great strike
-
Sky enhanced treble came in again today.
-
Atmosphere flat as a fart at The Etihad.

His home debut was though. Yeah, that wasn’t the question though. My dad remembered Len Shackleton scoring 6 on his debut in the 13-0 victory against Newport - not too shabby.
-
Supermac’s debut wasn’t against Liverpool. Quinn scoring 4 goals against Leeds takes some beating however, KK’s debut was on a different level, the whole build up and game itself was the stuff of dreams and it was a watershed game for NUFC.

Miles offside

After the elbow Dean made a conscious decision not to look back to check on Perez and simply ran up the pitch as Wolves broke. It was bad enough that he didn’t see the elbow but he also deliberately disregarded a head injury. Yedlin was fouled for the sending off and that’s mostly been glossed over, clear pull on his shirt but he didn’t dare throw himself to the ground in case it wasn’t given. Has to be said though; we let in 2 poor goals.

You’ll not find many agreeing with you.

On this again today, if you get the result of the tricky 1 of the 3 right then most of the time your bet will come in. Today was effectively 9/2 for West Ham to beat Palace at home (albeit Arsenal took their time).

The boycott was going to be a complete non event, there’s no significant appetite for it. TMG are doing the right thing by calling it off. I agree that this is win win for them, if this all Ashley playing games again TMG will gain much needed match going fan support and you’d like to think the media will be all over him calling him out.

Everton commentary can’t believe Atsu missed
-
Having to listen to the Everton FC commentary; we are howking them all over the pitch apparently and they are complaining about the quality of their corners - hmm
-
Can somebody let our players know that the 2nd half has started please?
-
Been coming that; right under the cosh.

I was in the Milburn paddock, Gallowgate end, there were less than 20 of us doing the protest, more (loads more) left at HT for an overpriced pint and pie than took part and loads more when we went 2 down. We lost 3-0 at home today against a very average side and the overwhelmingly “protest” was people leaving early. We deserve what we get.

If you don’t check twitter you wouldn’t know. That’ll be it then, and that’ll be it for thousands of others as well. Don’t even have a twitter account.

Serious question here; what is planned for tomorrow’s game? Is this is the late walk in, I’ll happily take part but I can say with a fair bit of confidence that I’ll be very much in the minority partly because most fans haven’t a clue about it. There’s been precious little coverage of this anywhere.

Seen a debate on Twitter a while back and I think this'll spark another one here, but regarding your own all time NUFC XI, who's on the left: Daveed or Robert? Ginola was on a different level to Robert. No contest for me.
