Wow, there was nobody at that game and the players were taking it like a practice match. That 3rd goal was 5 aside having a laugh football and it was still in the first half.

If Gouffran stays it's a sure sign that we're not going to be bringing in that many new players. If he stays and starts more than say 5 games then we'll be heading back down.

RIP Bradley; thoughts with his family.

We have got quite a good looking set of opening fixtures; if we don't pick up points against potential strugglers we can expect to be near the bottom and in some trouble. It is vital we get players through the door for those early games.

He got absolutely murdered against Preston, they had fairly quick players down their left and kept hitting long diagonals over his head. It was a complete car crash of a performance, 1st half display was especially poor.
-
The fact he's ended up at Leeds when out of contract tells its own story. It will be interesting to see where they play him and how long his contract is. Good luck to him; glad he's gone.

If Delph is available for 12M it really should be a no brainer to be in for him

Aye, Woodgate was no slouch; Colo and Lascelles on the other hand.

Over the line.

Huddlestone is absolutely woeful, I wouldn't take him on a free.

We are an extremely attractive club, certainly more attractive than f***ing Swansea. If we really want a player and will pay the going rate, we will have no problem bringing players here. Swansea may well have agreed more than the going rate though, if there's anything to the rumours about additional payments requested by the agent. Mike doesn't like being taken for a ride and he's going to have to accept that it will and does happen with the sea of money available.

We'll be getting quoted ott prices for players this early into the window and there's obvious disappointment with Abraham. There's also the likelihood that players don't see Newcastle as the attractive proposition that we and possibly Rafa does. It would be lovely to announce a signing early next week to take the heat out of things a bit. We also need to beat our record transfer fee sooner rather than later to get Mike used to writing large cheques. If he's quibbling he needs to get out of that pretty quickly. On a side note; I was told well over 2 years ago that Steve Nickson was the bloke who was identifying the talent so hopefully Rafa/ his team have seen something in him and this is a positive appointment. Surely Ashley can't be stupid enough to let everything that is now positive explode in his face? Can he?

Dyer is such an underrated player. He offered something different to just about every other central midfield player I can think of, his ability to break beyond a defence and cause havoc was phenomenal. He had his faults but there were times where has was almost unmarkable. Put in a team with players who could pick and a pass and wow. I'm convinced we'd have beaten Brazil if he'd been put on earlier. Anyway, wrong thread for this.

I'd hope this strengthens Rafa's hand. Good news.

"Newcastle is cold but pretty and the beaches in Brighton are beautiful as well and easily accessible from London." It's far from cold today; it's cracking pavements.

Whoever they go for next will be thinking McInnes turned this job down what am I thinking of? They'll end up with an out of work manager or be giving a first managerial job to someone.
-
That's pretty unbelievable. Will be turning down a far higher wage and will be staying in league where he has no chance of anything other than 2nd place and yet he's heard enough to decide that Sunderland will be bad for his career. Sunderland fans must be shitting themselves.

30 million is just crazy, really is.

No idea what to think; very weird.

I'm amongst Hart's biggest critics but those were 2 great strikes. I'd criticise the wall for not jumping for the first and I'd have put a man on the post for the second. Both free kicks were almost a perfect distance out and Griffiths already had his range for the second as he'd taken the first a minute or so earlier. I really fancied him for the second one. And no, I don't want Hart; he's a disaster waiting to happen with a splattering of amazing saves (that save he made at Wembley shortly after joining Torino was world class).

You realise that in the same season we bought both Sissoko and Debuchy for just a touch more than Anita cost?
-
Explain; he was awful. Give me one example where he changed a game. His most praised performances were when he ran his arse making himself a nuisance; the kind of performance Colback gets pelters for. Don't get me wrong, Colback is equally as poor but the undeserved praise Anita received on here baffled me. Overrated as a player by a large section of Newcastle Online. Absolute aids this post.
-
Bye; don't let the door hit your arse on the way out. Can't believe that we spunked over 6 million on a player who was never going to be able to cut it in the PL. Good luck anyway and thanks for nearly blowing our cover when we were in a home section and you decided to hit a screamer in Bruges.

RIP awful news. Was at Goodison for his debut when in the warm up he couldn't pass the ball 5 yards and then had a blinder, the Arsenal goal of course and I was right in line behind that cracker against City; what a hit that was. No age to go.

Ramos is an embarrassment. Madrid were different class 2nd half.
