We all know the real cancer but that's a different matter. Ashley will not want us relegated, he's on record saying the new manager was down to Charnley and Carr; it's well known we wanted a Head Coach and not a Manager, all to suit what was seen as the magic recruitment policy. I'd get rid of Charnley and Carr who think they are untouchable and appear to have no accountability. It goes without saying that McClaren needs to go. There's too much TV and free advertising for Ashley to sit and wait. He's a rich man but he'll not want to fall off this gravy train. Nor would he like his words from last year being rammed back down his throat. There'll be all scurrying around looking for a scape goat, McClaren is the easy target and let's be honest he needs to go. The others will be far far harder to remove.

Given that we can't sack all of the players our only hope is to get someone in to motivate this rabble to roll their sleeves up when it gets a bit tough. McClaren is bereft of any motivational skills, he has no presence and no charisma. He didn't want to come in the first place which suggests to me he didn't believe he had what it would take to make it work. He'd been in contact with Carr for a good while beforehand and no doubt been told what the players were like to work with. He eventually came because we were stupid enough to appoint him once he been sacked for failing to instil belief in a wobbling Derby team. He has to go, we are 5 points from safety already, give it another 5 or 6 games and it will be too late.

The lack of any leadership on or off the field is killing us now, we can't cope with any set back. With that in mind McClaren was a staggeringly poor appointment; he has to go. We were the better side for 40 minutes today but we simply fell apart. McClaren should have been having a near cardiac arrest on the touchline attempting to put it right, I bet he was hid in the dug out playing with his board and making notes. We wanted a coach and that's what we've got, unfortunately we need a manager.

Very impressed, looks like we have a left back.
-
I thought the performance confirmed that McClaren has little influence over the team. As much as we played well and put a shift in, it brought even more focus on the dire performances we've had.
-
Carr has to shoulder his portion of blame if he's been identifying areas where he thought we needed to strengthen. If he's doing what he's been told he's complicit. Either way, I can't understand the signing of Thauvin. In all likelihood he's probably a little bit more than complicit; he's a senior figure in the set up, he's a football man and he should know the likely consequences on the pitch following his choice of targets.
-
Should reset the poll to see how many are still refusing to see what a disaster this man is.
-
Earlier than expected but it was widely predicated he'd pick up an injury and again makes our summer signings look to be based on financial rather than need basis. Just need Colo to pick up his knock now.

When a new manager can't motivate his players to show they are worth the shirt then the manager is not going to succeed. Pardew can't take the blame for the lack of effort. If there are players causing problems put them with the kids, let Cisse go to Russia or the Middle East, try and off load Tiote. Drop senior players when they are going through the motions. McClaren must be a right easy touch in the dressing room he doesn't look like he has anything about him to inspirie or demand respect. He's acting like the job is too big, when you're in charge and try and smile your way out of a corner and more or less admit you ain't got a clue what's going on then quite frankly you're already beyond the point of no return. We've got these players until January at least. The only one we can get rid of is McClaren. These players need a manager, not a head coach.
-
I don't see people advocating Pardew; I do see people saying Pardew, as a manager, not a man, might just have offered more. That's quite staggering but it may well be true.
-
Really, though? I'd say so, Cisse saving his bacon against Hull was an example, he could generate a bit of a siege mentality and get the players to buy into out. The fact that Cabaye went to Palace, Shola got a gig there and Colo seemingly wanted to go suggests that. He backed the players over HBA. McClaren has got nothing going for him.
-
Pardew was very limited in his ability to change tactics positively during a game and he is an odious prick but the players generally put a shift in and tried. McClaren hasn't even got that, it's hard to believe but we are worse than ever. He needs to drop 4 or 5 players and hope that those given a chance take it. Big problem is that our next 3 fixtures are games where the opposition will be rubbing their hands with glee waiting for us. We'll be adrift soon.
-
You just need to see what going on on the pitch. We've a new manager who hasn't been able to generate any enthusiasm or togetherness on the pitch. Formations, patterns of play do take time but, the willingness to play for each other and give it everything should be there for a new manager from day one. The players aren't properly up for it, you can't win playing at 80% - 90% and McClaren hid in the dugout when we needed him the be bawling the players out. There's no leader on the pitch (Janmaat being the closest), a huge mistake was made in keeping Colo and we have made signings in positions that have made no difference to the problem areas. We're now expecting a young lad of questionable self discipline to score us the goals to keep us up, defensive players that aren't good enough to protect a defence that isn't organised (through lack of communication) leaving it open to being taken apart with minimal opposition disruption. McClaren should go right now there's nothing I've seen to suggest that he can pull this side together. We're getting worse. The only reason we're not bottom is because we haven't lost to the Mackems yet.

Just seen it on MOTD, Cisse should have had a penalty early on, nearly had his shirt taken off him in that penalty area scramble. My god we were bad.
-
I was at a different game, he looked disinterested for the most part and only got involved once we'd scored and only then because Janmaat got into more useful overlapping positions forcing him to play. I felt he was going through the motions. The whole team played at around 80% and that's just not good enough (Janmaat was a bit better).
-
? Really. There was a situation in the first half where he'd already been beaten by pace from their full back and he then tried to beat the same man on the outside with pace and failed miserably. Most of the rest of the time he ran in to dead ends, held on to the ball too long and failed to contribute anything of significance. I'd have took him off. He's a long way from being anywhere near good enough for the money he cost.
-
Where's the PardewOut.com lads. We need them back double quick. We were so bad today it was embarrassing today. Encouragingly I had Watford fans saying they thought we'd stop up...
-
Ball greedy and not good enough so far. Lucky not to be hauled off, McClaren had his head in his hands several times today because of him.
-
Wtf was Haidara doing for their first goal? Kick it out or kick it up the line, no, try and play it infield and leave us horribly exposed for no good reason. I've just got back and could go through almost every thread on here and find legitamate reason to slag us off.
-
Yeah, that was the problem today, we'd have won comfortably otherwise.
-
The bloke hid in the dugout today when we went 2-0 down, there's no team spirit or leader, there's no appreciation of where team mates are on the pitch, no movement, no threat or desire. I'd sack him now. We are beyond bad.
-
Should be sacked, now, make no mistake we are going down under him. We were unbelievably bad today. Had Watford fans saying that Ashley was the problem; not today, McClaren was the problem he hid in the dug out from their 2nd goal until after ht. Utterly clueless, worse than Carver today.
-
The Watford Fans are pretty confident about this. They reckon if they'll not get an easier away game; possibly Sunderland.
