It's not clear precisely what Rafa wanted, but how easy is it to get 'two or three proven high quality players' for £36m? You have to beat off a fair bit of competition. The modern Spurs side was built on a number of very lucrative excursions into the transfer market - Berbatov, Bale, Modric - where they got some good seasons from them and then sold them on at a big profit. That was just seats showing as available to buy a new season ticket. I've no idea how many additional tickets are available for general sale.

Did a quick count and there appears to be almost 11,500 available season tickets on the stadium plan. That doesn't include the one I cancelled so I'd like to think there's a fair few others showing as unavailable that have actually been cancelled.
