Wijnaldum was an advanced shuttler, obviously, you silly fools.

Aye Big Sam did that a lot. His conclusion was always "more hoof to Micky O & Oba" so it means nowt. re Sissoko in cm: Hindsight is 20/20. It turns out anyone would've done a better job than Tiote. But i can't fault that sub too much. It's the NDJ sub that seemed as if he thought "we need a goal. Who is the best finisher on the bench. NDJ? You're up." With no thought as to how we would get up the pitch. He might well have thought that de Jong's a calm player in possession, moves into space well and would help to retain the ball more by using his brain rather than his brawn.

Did he not just mean we were obviously knackered and we needed to play it a bit smarter?

This is so depressingly predictable. Even some of the local reports have been saying how much better yesterday was compared to 'the rest of 2015'. Aye, what about all the times before that, you knobs?

Vurnon Anita (now playing for RKC Waalwijk)

I'd be very interested to see Cabella as a 10 behind the striker. Easy to forget after last season but the lad was an absolute class act for Montpellier when played there. He created a boatload of chances (think he was the highest in Ligue 1) and got 14 goals. Of course, it's not the best league, but it's just as impressive as Wijnaldum's individual season for PSV last year, IMO. Don't think it'd work that well if Cisse's the one leading the line, due to a lack of athleticism, but if Mitrovic proves to be a good player in this league then they could be a duo that dovetail quite well. -
He ran out of steam after 70 minutes, fair enough, but he was being a bit lazy with his tracking on a few occasions much earlier in the game.
-
Haidara needs a run of games. He could quite feasibly have been rusty and wasn't helped by Obertan on quite a few occasions, to be fair to him. I've seen the lad have some good games for us but we're going to have to give him a proper chance.

Thought Wijnaldum got caught in possession too many times. Will take awhile to adapt to the pace of the league. I genuinely think the plan is for him to become a CM, they just don't want to chuck him in there too early with the likes of Anita/Colback (who aren't physical enough to carry him) while he's adapting.
-
The block aside, I can't remember anything Colback did. Actually, scratch that, I remember him fouling Mane. He's an OK player but I was getting frustrated at how often he was turning back, today. Anita, whilst evidently not perfect, generally tries to turn into space and move forward when he can. Wijnaldum moving back as the weeks go on will be a big, big help.
-
I wouldn't judge him aerially yet. I think he'll get more aggressive the more he learns the league.

We badly lost legs at the end. They were shouting at them to push up but too many were flat out.
-
He had a fight with some fans, last night, apparently.

The thing I like about McClaren, at this stage, is that he knows we are/should be a big club. It's nice to hear that mindset, rather than 'we can't afford things, I love Mike'.

Disgrace is a word thrown about too often, these days, but that is genuinely disgraceful.

Everyone forgotten Johnson's a supposed pedo or what?

Do Spurs have any key players out? This side's pretty weak.
