I don't think Colback-Anita is seen as the long term solution, tbh. Probably just playing it safe as we play our new system in the league for a few weeks. Not as cavalier as I'd like.

I think they're being cautious with de Jong and Aarons, which is probably fair enough. Perez should be starting, though.

He is not as a lone striker though he can hold the ball up for one We're at home, our main striker's priority is to score goals, Cisse is pretty good at that.

Mitrovic not starting is fine, tbh. Cisse is a good striker.

Obertan is probably one of those ones that's good in training. The coaches will soon see how shit he is.

Taylor should play, tbh, if Pelle is starting.

If you've seen any of our preseason, that's something we won't be doing a lot of at all. Not that I'm against mixing it up, personally, now that we've got Mitrovic.

The thing I like about McClaren, at this stage, is that he knows we are/should be a big club. It's nice to hear that mindset, rather than 'we can't afford things, I love Mike'.

Is their team that good? 2 very inconsistent wingers, a decent enough but unspectacular set of defenders and midfielders. Their strike force is nowt to write home about either. Cabaye and Puncheon are good players, to be fair, but I just don't see a set of players that can break top 10 again, other sides have strengthened more, imo. Reckon they'll be 14th, tbh.

Anita's played more preseason minutes than him, hasn't he? Interesting if that's the case. Think we'll initially see Colback-Anita but will quickly be phased out for Wijnaldum to drop deeper.

He's just solid. Decent squad player, if his role is minimised to a simple one. Shouldn't be a starter. He did OK in a couple of spells, last year, but he's generally just too passive to be a main central midfielder.

If Taylor and Williamson are to start any of our games, Pelle and Gomis are good opposition for them. I'd have Mbemba in with Taylor on Sunday, myself. I'd also go with fuck the DMs - Sissoko and Wijnaldum interchanging, Perez and Aarons swapping wings with de Jong behind Cisse. Mitrovic to come on and fuck some shit up.
