I see Mako has made his way over to Toontastic. Still spouting utter shite.
-
The bloke's proven himself to be an utter disgrace, like. Fair enough at wanting to have a crack it first time, I can sort of get that from a fan's perspective, but performing as he has and still thinking he can manage this club. Fuck off.
-
Frankly, that's the most insane thing I've ever read.
-
Soopafans are the worst. Far more interested in preserving their image and ego than the actual welfare of the club. I'd be interested to know what it was like before Sky Sports started making us out to be something we're not - Geordie Nation and all that bollocks.
-
He probably comes from the old-school of thought of 'let the lads work it out for themselves'. I'm always amazed when managers just stick on a load of strikers when their team is behind too. Defenders prefer getting tight and compact, in this country at least, the more you narrow your style of play the better it is for them. Especially when you've got a forward line of midgets and lads who can't head a ball. It's crazy, the right sub was to get abeid on got jonas or Gouff and get a f***ing grip of the midfield, get Abeid to sit and let moussa push on. Perez was totally isolated. Maybe even bring Cabella in behind him as a 10. He has no idea The midfield choices were a joke, like. We had no protection in front of the defence for long balls because, shock, we didn't have a single central midfielder in there. It was a problem trying to build attacks too, never a central presence for anyone to work off. A complete shambles.

I'm annoyed about this still which is annoying me as I'm generally so apathetic about NUFC these days that I wouldn't normally care. You can just sum it up as a 'joke'. Joke board, joke management, joke tactics, plenty of joke players, fucking joke club. Saddest thing is, I've seen lots of comments on the likes of FB about 'too many French' and all that shite being bandied about again. When are people going to fucking wake up to this shit? Getting a few more local lads in won't make the slightest difference when they're playing under this utter shite. One of the Geordies we had in the team yesterday was fucking laughing after he smacked the ball out of touch when under no pressure. Players will play when there's something to believe in: a goal set by the club's hierarchy and/or for a manager that actually has a clue. At the minute, we have neither. The fucking prick in charge of us set us up to play like some League One outfit for most of the game, hoofing a ball up to a tiny lad and having us sit so deep we couldn't even get the second ball. And all of his pre-match bluster about 'working hard' and all that bollocks just misses the point, we used to breeze these games because we'd turn up, know we were the better team and just play our game. Of course, the players have to also shoulder some blame too. I have faith in some of them and feel they're good enough for NUFC, but that's a very small minority. But when you're told that you've done your job, your boss doesn't want anymore and the moron that's managing you sets you up totally against your strengths week after week, it's no surprise you're not putting in maximum effort. It's just a shitty mess. I do think the club can get back to where it was, under new ownership, but I'm at the point of wondering if I care about top level English football anymore. It's just soulless crap, the majority of the games are fucking awful and everything has become about 'efficiency'. Teams are rarely fun to watch and the managers generally give more of a fuck about workrate and defensive stuff than attacking. I hate it, it's not the football I grew up with. -
I hope he goes out in town tonight. He's stupid enough to.

How I wish this were true. Pardew lost 500 of these and wasn't even under pressure. Alan Pardew was capable of pulling some results out the bag. -

Our passing, man. -
Well, all I know is my two Lyon-supporting mates think he's a really good coach that'll go on to have a great career. Let's not forget, he went into his first managerial job at one of the most highly-pressurised clubs in France, was told he'd have to build around youth and his best players would most likely be sold every season for the foreseeable. Not only did he 'steady the ship' in terms of results, he bedded in some of the brightest young talents in the country, played entertaining football on the way - with a number of different systems, I might add - and won a significant trophy. Of course, his last season was more disappointing than his initial two, but there'd been murmurs around the local press that he'd apparently wanted to leave after the second season, feeling he'd been at Lyon long enough after so much time as part of the coaching staff. His heart may simply not have been in it as much.
-
I think you're making a but if a mistake by not considering context here, TCD. Lyon were in a bad situation and were having to compete in a time where big money was starting to come into Ligue 1. He'd also been making noises about leaving for a while, he'd been a part of the Lyon staff for over 10 years. I think their fans' reaction to him leaving said it all. A supporter base who've enjoyed tremendous success over the last 15 years and they make a banner for Garde (the bloke who only won a couple of trophies) leaving, that shows you the success of his project.
-
Garde isn't at all defensive, like. Like all teams, his side put in the odd defensive display, but they generally played very good stuff. Well, at least when I was more connected to French football they were. They're scoring more because they have Fekir over the likes of Gomis playing with a more mature Lacazette.
-
Was our fanbase ever so bothered about 'graft' before 'that group of lads'? I remember people would get pissed at Robert for not tracking back and stuff, but it just seems so much more prevalent now for our lot to back supposed grafters and make heroes out of the likes Ryan Taylor and Joey Barton.
-
Yeah, that's fucking terrible.
-
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
-
This was a bit different IMO, we had them on the ropes for 45 minutes and played some canny stuff. Aye it's still clearly nowt to shout about in reality but was nice to see. Most games are a non-event if they're not an absolute humiliation and it's been that way for years. First time I've felt really animated by one of our games for a while, good to see us keeping up pressure for a sustained period of time.

His fall will come soon. And it will be delicious.
