Tricky question. I like the fella but am not sure about his ability to take the role on, on his own. In saying that, he seems very much the typical type of Ashley appointment for manager in that he is english, not been at the highest level and therefore wont command a massivley high salary, unemployed so no severance would have to be paid to another club. Ticks all of Ashley's boxes.

It was obvious as soon as Alan recounted the story about him and Venables in '96, that we was referring to how he was going to treat Owen. I reckon getting Owen confident and scoring goals is Al's top priority.

As someone alluded to earlier, at his first press conference, Alan spoke very well, clearly, confidently, determindly. JK opened his first press confererence by calling a Journo a cunt. No comparison between the 2 men really.

There is a picture taken right before this one with his arm around Jonas and they are obviously joking with each other. I reckon he has just pushed Jonas in this picture. Aye you'll be right. Good pictures. Good to see them smiling and appearing relaxed straight away.

Is it only me that thought it was shite that he didnt wear a Tie. You keep hearing stories about how people like Capello get discipline running throuigh a team by coming in and getting the squad all wearing smart suits etc etc... well Llambias not wearing a tie to this important press conference smacked of massive lack of self discipline. And I am aware it will probably come across as "any stick to hit them with" kind of thing but I just thought it looked unprofessional.
