Tough call. I had moved away from the area by the time SBR became manager so its difficult for me to call. For me, there was an air and an atmosphere about the whole area when KK was in charge. Couldnt honestly describe what it was but 7 days a week, I felt like I walked around the area 10 feet tall. There was just a buzz. I felt like most of the country wanted to be a Newcastle fan and wanted to be part of it. I felt privileged to be a part of it. Would be interested to know if that feeling was there during SBR's time. Part of me suspects it might have been different as prior to KK we had been completely in the dumps and to have a team like the one he produced was alien to most, if not all of us.

Isnt this story just going to unsettle everything again. Kinear has it in his head that he has a crack at the job full time. He is in the seat so he has every right to think that. If it's not sold in time to address the quality/size of the squad in January we're screwed. The only saving grace in all of this mess is that the value of Ashley's investment would probably halve if we went down, so spending £20-30m on players in January might prevent him from losing £125m if we go down. That said, I'm not sure if I'd completely trust JFK with that sort of cash. In theory, any money should be getting spent by Dennis Wise. Kinnear as an "interim" manager shouldnt have any say so, despite what he has been mouthing to the press. He definitely isnt above criticism Fredbob, even someone who loves him as much as I do appreciates that. I do think he deserves better than : " The only treble Keegan has is in the number of jobs he's walked out of when the going got tough " which personally I think is just childish
