Well for the 2 goals tonight he just crossed both times to Crouch and Owen who were totally unmarked in the box. I would pick the Crouch pass out for the 2 as the better.

Not see Joe Cole this evening then? Not really, no. The only part I watched fully was the last 30mins. Cole did look crap from what I saw though. The whole game was pretty poor really barring the 3 goals which were well executed. Inbetween there wasnt much inspiration. Crouch won the award for most pointless booking for that crap tackle on that lad near then end.

The sad thing is that if we had a decent manager who could mould a good team, adding Beckham's crossing ability could make us quite formidable. Just a pipe dream though

To me his return was an indication that McLaren was saying to the rest of the squad "You lot are shit without him so I am having to bring him back to try and bail us out".... he's right

I think the only thing keeping Gerrard at Liverpool now is the hope that they can mount some kind of charge on the premiership title. The cups have help keep him there but I think about 3 years of coming 3rd/4th but 15+ points behind the leader will finally see him leave.

Kevin Nolan has scored a few snorters from distance as well in his time at Bolton. If nothing else it should tighten the players' decision making and hopefully execution if they ever feel like having a go from 30 yards.
