  1. I just find it all so bloody depressing. In the Summer there was so much optimism around; more than there had been for so long. I dont want to believe that it was all another false dawn and that it was all for nothing.
  2. Were you at the match? There was a good few thousand singing You Don't Know What You're Doing. And he doesn't on the last three games' evidence. Shocking performances. I wasnt and I know there were thousands singing it but sadly when Sky captures images like that, it just highlights even more how poor we seem to be at supporting our team when the times are bad. Yes, the last 3 games have been very very bad but when we expect the team to stand tall and fight things out on the pitch, the fans give the impression that we have given up already.

    Jose Enrique

isnt this the lad who has all the Villareal fans preparing to stop supporting the club because they sold him? He must be a decent player. He is just finding himself in a team and a club with very little confidence
  4. Apologies if this has already been mentioned but who are those 2 utter twats shouting "you dont know what your doing" at Sam yesterday. Just seen it on goals on Sunday and I felt like wishing the ground would swallow me up I was so embarrased. What a set of fans we are !
  5. Clever way for MON to deflect the attention away from himself. Shearer as the next England manager is total nonsense. We cant afford to take a chance on a person with no managerial or coaching experience whatsoever. The next manager has to be proven at international level or at least have had success in european club competition. Havent got a clue who mind but we have to take the time to find someone.
  6. thats the key to the whole argument. absolutely no point sacking him unless there is a realistic replacement lined up has a proven successful record. Personally, i dont think we could possibly attract one right now
  7. For me, I agree that I have grave doubts over Allardyce now and agree that he may be out of his depth at a club with such resources and expectations such as ours but I am forcing myself to believe that now is the time to not act on impulse. Who knows what the right decision is because football is such a fickle game, that we could win say 6 out of the next 10 and this board, and peoples opinions, will be totally different. On the basis that I dont think we could get a real high quality manager, a la Mourinho (which if we are looking to replace Sam is the only way to appease the fans), we may as well have a go at the patience thing.
  8. keep him because of what other people would think ? Keep him because we need some continuity. They would be laughing because they would be right in thinking that our club and our fans are a joke.
  9. Sacking him now would cement our reputation as a revolving door club and the whole country wouldnt stop laughing. Just got to roll with the punches at the minute. Keep him.
  10. I stand ready to be criticised because I have not had time to read any of the previous posts and I was only able to catch 5 minutes or so of the match but.... We have a new Chairman, New Board, New Manager, New Defenders etc yet it seems no better than last season.. if not worse. Whats the one thing that has remained constant... US.. the fans. i honestly believe that the fans are the root of all the problems. I know its nigh on impossible to get motivated when the team are performing poorly but until we are able to give 100% support during the 90 minutes and to get behind them vocally, regardless of the performance, the players are never ever going to respond on the pitch. It doesnt matter which 11 you have wearing the shirts. Sadly, it will never happen so no matter which manager we get in, which players we get, us fans are always going to drag us down. Fucking depressed I am this afternoon

    Mad Darren

And the guy who sat in the East stand, right next to the Corner that used to make the sound like a Red Indian ?

    Mad Darren

Good to know that Darren is still remembered. I used to stand in the Scoreboard and remember Mad Darren well (although not personally)

    Steve McClaren

I think its just that SGE won most of the games that I think we would expect England too bearing in mind the quality that we have. The fact that McLaren struggled against the likes of Macedonia is staggering

    Steve McClaren

He was when it mattered. What he was very capable of doing though was get a good squad of players playing well enough to qualify for major tournaments. How the fuck can McLaren not get that team of footballers to qualify
  16. Durham Wasps were always kings of the rink
  17. From both ours and Mickey's perspective, we are both knackered. Who on earth would buy him. We have to focus on the fact that he is going to be with us for a while until such time he maintains some level of consistency with his fitness. Hopefully in that time, the team develops on the pitch to a point that he feels he would like to stay
  18. Our best ever Champions League finish, that's what he brought to the club and it shouldn't be forgotten. Always be grateful for that Feyenoord match. I dont think I have shouted so loud as when that 3rd goal went in. Pur and utter delerium just doesnt explain it properly.
  19. I thought that said Adam Sandler !!

    Allardyce.

Against Coventry, Nobby off Speed on. Went on and won the game 1 - 4. I remember away at Blackburn... late 80's... 2nd half, Darren Bradshaw came on as a sub and then got subbed about 10 minutes later... wasnt injured.

    Allardyce.

Whats the stats for the amount of new threads started on the subject of "Is Sam good enough?" this week as apposed to last week ?
  22. Very good and agree whole heartedly. The only thing I disagreed with was the criticism of Gordon. Not sure our goal was his fault, nor does it make him a bad keeper.
  23. That fucking football club. I hate them now as much as I did back then.
  24. Sunderlands biggest problem will be is Keane buggers off. The whole Irish thing suggests that if he cant look at an ex Ireland international, he wont have a clue where to go
