What it does do is just levels off Chelsea's rocket like progression. There is no doubt that they will still be competing for all the top prizes over the coming seasons, but as they are no doubt going to have to trim down their squad so that they dont have 22 players that would walk into nearly all the other prem teams, they will not enjoy the almost total dominance that they have enjoyed over the last 3 seasons

I think it would be tragic if Ashley did look to off-load SA and bring in some high profile manager. I think most fans are looking forward to SA, steadying the ship and finally bringing some structure and organisation to the club which it has so desperately needed. I would hate the idea of Ashley just throwing money at the problem in the hope that that a high progfile manager would bring some success. At this point in time, we dont need that. Spending money like water has got us nowhere over recent years... we need to hope Ashley understands the need for steady progress.

Crouch has scored the odd very good goal and benefitted from playing for well organised and successful team / club. Put him in any other club however and he will revert to what he was before. A very average, non prolific centre forward. Spurs/QPR/Portsmouth/Villa didnt off load him because they felt they werent good enough for Crouch. Its because he wasnt good enough Decent lad.... not a great footballer.
