I think Shearer kicking Neil Lennon in the head was much much worse
  2. Sounds like the first 2 relegation berths are filled then. I had visions of spurs getting 6+ mind. Wigan being top of the league after 3 games seems a million miles away.
  3. at least he is trying to get us 0-0 draws. Daglish and Souness got us 0-0's and defeats when trying to win
  4. I remember a period, maybe at the start of last season when he was at Villa, didnt he give away something like 4 penalties in 5 games. I just seemed to remember everyweek, he made some major mistake. I think he conceded one against us at SJP Am sure Brummie will remember
  5. Thats a good assessment of how we should probably be thinking.... not been the best so far but dont get the knives out yet
  6. Just 2 major things missed for me. The Barton incident and the two footed tackle (and act which I think should be punished by deportation - a real disease in football) The rest were just average decisions which go for and against you every week.
  7. The question is obviously relating to whether he is under any additional pressure to the normal levels... Probably, but only because of unbelievably unrealistic fans with unrealistic expectations and awareness of how ordinary we are at the moment.
  8. How the hell did Vassell not score there ?

They were right on MOTD mind. He could have made a right meal of that but instead just got on with it. credit it to him for that.
  10. Rush keeper. Of course. How come Blatter hasnt come up with that one yet ?
  11. I loved seeing all the Staines fans on MOTD celebrating their goal dressed like Ali G
  12. hang on a sec... is he the guy from Chelmsley Wood that is so overweight he cant leave the house ?
  13. I watched our match here in Solihull with me mate who is Blues fan. I must admit I felt a huge sense of relief when the final whistle went and I looked at him and thought he has another 24 hours to wait before he goes through all this. Awful matches they are Where in Solihull did you watch it? I'm so glad I don't live in Solihull any more. The place is absolutely crawling with 'noses. Did you ever stumble across Fat Barry Austin, the world's most famous blue nose? Just at home in Shirley I believe Garry Sprake used to live down my road - he may still do for all I know. I havent come across him, no. Is he from around here ?
  14. Great interview by Grant Leadbitter on MOTD Asked about his first T&W derby as a local Sunderland lad. Personality of a fucking doorknob. And has Shearer been playing snooker before he went on camera
  15. Cant we please play 22 players against them
  16. It is all very sad but I dont think Sam had much option did he. If he had stayed, I am guessing that he might have been too distracted by his missus to be as effective on the pitch Legend status is justified.
  17. I think in August this year, having suffered the previous season under Roeder and the Souness bollocks prior to that, we would have all been wise to have put this season as a near write off anyway - on the assumption that come May 08, we could sit back and say "what a difference to this time last year". I still say we have to let things run until May and then take stock - although admittedly, it doesnt look like its going to be the most enjoyable time I don't mind writing a season off for long term gain, but the point is more related to getting the best out of what you have. Robson wasn't a long ball merchant but he was wise enough to play to his teams strengths until he got his own personnel. This is where I think Allardyce isn't really fulfilling expectations. This might sound arrogant but maybe Sam is still coming to terms with working with a larger quantity of highly talented players. He turned Kevin Davies, a very run of the mill player, into a fairly OK consistent premiership goalscorer. Maybe Sam is coming to terms with handling players of Martins' and Owen's talent and that he has to actually work with the talent that they have as apposed to trying to make a player work on certain sides of him to game to make him appear less shit.

Of the midfielders today Emre was most disappointing. He was the one I was looking to, to pass the ball around and create chances but he just didnt appear to get involved at all.
