  1. Am sure I remember the away fans being escorted along Blackett St, past Eldon Square green? Hard to believe looking back.
  2. Very same happened to me and my daughter for a cup game in the very same section last season. In the run up to the game we were baffled by how the seat Nos suggested we were sat apart but it all became clear when we got in there. Seats were together.
  3. Bit of a surprise result IIRC. Wasn't there but went the following year when i think we won 3-0. Must have been promotion season, glory hunter that i am
  4. Aye, it's class. I'm an unashamed anorak when it comes to stuff like this. Completed the 92 at Forest Green v Salford last month. Did about 60 odd grounds with the Toon then when i temporarily chucked my ST and was at a loose end i thought i'd try and do the rest. Had some fantastic days out at random places. https://www.footballgroundmap.com/scoreboard82
  5. This coming from someone whose club has played about 2 European ties in its history.
  6. As you say people with low pts can buy to boost their pts total and sell on but with the possibility of ID checks it's not without risk these days.
  7. Been going quite a lot lately as quite local. Aye it's a decent set up. Big marquee with a bar in. Used to be that anyone could sit at the tables in there but as they've grown more popular i think they've become a bit more selective these days. Not 100% sure but think you have to book tables of 6 as hospitality. Not expensive like. Likewise they've got a decked area with picnic tables at the front of it where you can sit with a pint but there's a sign up saying ST holders only but again not sure if they are strict in that respect. Doing well in the league though after promotion to NL2. Won the 1st 7 then drew the last couple. Usually about 300 at the home games.
  8. Do North Shields Athletic play at John Spence school? Not a very attractive venue if so.
  9. Don't know about this season but DFDS used to do packages that included a match ticket. Met 2 Fortuna Sittard ST holders (father and son) in town the night before the Arsenal game. Had the doubletree by Hilton included at the airport. On a side note, it will be interesting to see membership take up next season. Suppose those who manage to get tickets will keep it and those that don't will seriously question its value.
  10. The older one's 55 FFS not 15. If he was a mackem we'd be ridiculing him on here. No excuse for the OTT heavy handed policing though.
  11. 6 wins out of 6 for newly promoted Blue Star after a 5-0 win v Brandon Utd yesterday. Bizarrely seen a rear car door open, a lad flat out on the back seat and a pool of spew on the pavement beneath his head after I left the ground. Can of drink visible inside. Hope it wasn't his car. No way he'd drive home.
  12. It is an interesting one but the way things have been since the takeover, it seems like members haven't necessarily been choosing which games they go to. It's been more of a case of people getting to whichever games they've been lucky enough to get tickets for. The points , big or small would just be given according to which games each applicant had been successful for. Takes away the 'loyalty' aspect IMO.
  13. Hope they can keep them going for 90+ minutes for games in January.
  14. Similar to Netflix? 1st episode will appear some time tomorrow then I just find it and press play anytime from then on in? God , I really am an old git.
  15. Old bloke here. Not familiar with amazon prime. Can you choose to watch the documentary anytime or is it a case of watch it at the time it's aired or miss it?
  16. I suppose if they're happy to sit anywhere most will enter the ballot as it gives them an extra chance of getting a ticket. If your physically unable to reach areas of the ground or fussy with the view you'd probably only try the the resale option.
  17. It would make sense to offer successful ballot applicants a ticket in a particular area/areas 1st. Those offered can then take it or leave it. Seems the way it is people are "stuck" with tickets in unsuitable or inaccessible areas.
  18. Olivia Atwood isn't it? Bet she'll love Sunderland. Saying that Blackburn's hardly glamorous. In reality they're probably moving from Alderly Edge or somewhere in Cheshire to Darras Hall.
  19. Class from Trafford. His granda is old Trafford you know.
  20. Think demand merely to get in and see the 1st team these days is so great, and people will be so hungry for toon games by then that this will be well attended.
  21. Last seasons away kit had the Paisley pattern. Was very popular.
  22. "Then look to keep eg the family enclosure as affordable as possible." I think the club probably regret having such a massive family section tbh. Ashley was happy to make it that big cos he was happy to fill seats by all means. There'd probably be some uproar if somehow they reduced it massively now.
  23. Played for St Mirren too (my favourite club up there). Personally can only remember him from his playing days at Man U and Leeds (I think). RIP Gordon.
  24. Aye, was that game at QPR on plastic? Where we were 4-0 up at HT to draw 5-5.
