Remember when they 'only' had to beat Millwall in the semi final, circa 2004 to get into Europe and they still fucked it up 😃?

The pessimist in me, the toon have made me this way, had me sure they'd get through then get Norwich or Southampton for a place at Wembo. Listened to the closing stages on radio Newcastle and it was hilarious listening to Gary Bennett agonise over every misplaced pass or wrong decision their players made . Probably stooping to their level but that cheered me up.

I like that Port Vale strip. Very old school. Can't see a sponsor on it and got the cursive PVFC on it.

Aye, the cheeky bastards. They were very quiet at 0-1 but suddenly turned into the most loyal and fervent fans on the planet once they turned it round. Giving it the "Where's your famous atmosphere" etc. Hate Arteta and Arsenal but them winning the league at least means these spoilt twats miss out despite their millions and having been allowed to spend them. Can't believe I've just typed that about satisfaction from Arsenal winning the league 😆. As has been said, the older generation at least suffered for years, watched them in the 3rd tier etc and being the shit of Manchester but they're dying out.

City equalised on 39 mins and it sparked a mass exodus too.

Was telling this story to the wife only the other day. Prompted by "In the summertime" being played in an Albufeira bar while we were on holiday. It was indeed a fantastic day. Quite surreal.

https://www.safc.com/news/2026/february/24/season-ticket-waiting-list-now-open/ Season ticket waiting list? Don't even fill the SOS unless we're there. They really think they're bigger than they are.
-
I prefer to look at it as we had better results over the course of a full season than enough of the other teams.
-
I actually like that for the price and seeing as it's without the Wonga logo. Them bringing their derby celebration t shirt out just sums them up. They really are SMBs.
-
Exactly. The push on Burn led to them gaining an advantage once the ball was in play. Burn didn't choose his position. He was put there. It can't be right.

Can we play you every week? 🎵 -
These Rangers fans are worse than our lot when it comes to overreacting to mistakes/misplaced passes etc.
-
It's bad when you have to put up with taunts of "Your support is f***ing shit" from an away end consisting of just about enough people to fill a mini bus.
-
Got to admit I'm like that when we go out of the cups. Any later ties that weekend and I'm like " Who gives a fk?"

SSN reported that there was a squirrel on the pitch at one of the games, MK Dons maybe? Squirrel Regis?

That was a "like" thumbs up for replying to my post btw and not for having a go at the bairns. Although I'm sure you love them and want them to do well in life ☺.

For the 1st time this season I felt the mood had moved from concern or displeasure to general anger yesterday. As you say, among our fans i.e some having a go at those walking out and I even heard one lad ranting about busses being allowed to go from Percy street into Newgate Street just after a match ends. It's amazing what gets you riled up when your teams on a bad run 🙂.
-
Some of those leaving after Brentfords' winner got some grief from a few around me with calls to "stay and support your team". There was only one goal in it with loads of stoppage time ahead after all. I'm sure most were able to catch their last bus/train too. You can understand it a bit more when it's an 8.15 KO.

Sandro away, away, away Sandro away, away, away Midfield maestro.. it's time to go Sandro away, away, away

The whole ticket situation at the club, distribution, everything, is a massive issue. We really need expansion/relocation to alleviate the problem.

I even wonder how kids and young'uns get into SJP at all these days, maybe cup games aside. How do they start? In my day you could decide you wanted to go to the match an hour before KO and just turn up. Do they just have to wait for people to die before seats are freed up? The family section? How does that work? I would have thought more kids becoming an adult and needing "re-housed" in SJP would outnumber the amount of seats that had become available elsewhere? Then when a parent and kid move out of their family enclosure seats how do the club decide who to fill those seats with? Genuine questions. Are we missing out on a generation of fans simply because youngsters can't get in? We might even lose some to that lot down the road.

Watching St Mirren, 1 up at Airdrie in the Scottish cup on BBC Scotland. Virgin channel 162. Great finish from 18 year old Man Utd loanee Jacob Devaney. Made a great start up there by all accounts after playing a big part in beating Hearts the other night.
