  1. I actually like the "enjoy the game" comment. It's become a familiar thing. Synonymous with home games. Don't mind it at all.
  2. Blue Star management gone after a 5-3 defeat at Birtley on Friday. Been on the cards. A poor season so far after much expectation.
  3. Remember all those "pundits" telling us how lucky we were to have him?
  4. After the events at Hillsborough they still risk overcrowding and put their own fans at risk by doing so.
  5. One more goal last night and we'd have scored as many in one game as SAFC ever have in European competition.
  6. Looked like an Arsenal fan was getting pushed around in the bottom of the Leazes end, near the Milburn corner after their winner. Stewards plucked him out to safety. Wonder who supplied his ticket. Could be another ST under investigation.
  7. Barnet 3 Grimsby 0 on Saturday gone. Grimsby were surprisingly poor. Atmosphere better than I'd expected but helped by 1200+ Grimsby fans. No 91 of 92 so only Evertons new bit to go now. Already begged for a ticket in the tickets thread lol. Stood in the HT pint queue I met 2 lads from Stavanger in Norway. Turns out they were toon fans and one had a magpie tattoo on the back of his neck. Asked for somewhere to watch our game in London yesterday so I suggested the Dolphin. Don't know if it was any good for them. Hope so.
  8. Bit of generalisation there but aye, some of the young'uns are an embarrassment who will get their comeuppance somewhere if not careful. At last they're getting some grief for their behaviour from the older fans.
  9. Wonder why they aren't at the Olympic stadium. He'd said, too lazy to look it up.
  10. Wouldn't be much of a battle to get through the crowds for the emergency services.
  11. Let's go (anywhere other than the SOS)
  12. Think I seen him at North Shields v Blue Star the other week. Took me a while to think of where I recognise him from but think he used to organise toon away coaches? Unless I'm thinking of someone completely different.
  13. Always been nice, Palace kits. I like the old traditional diagonal stripe one from years ago.
  14. An eventful start to the season at Blue Star. 2-0 Whitley at HT, Blue Star took off Michael Ndwini who it looked like they'd tried to accommodate in a front 3, then they improved to level at 2-2. Looked like Whitley snatched it about 10 mins from the end with a 3rd and then Star squandered a very late penalty. There was still time for a Whitley Bay own goal and a Blue Star equaliser. So 3-3 in front of a good crowd of 548.
  15. That lot away in Edinburgh at Hearts while Boro are at Rangers. Bet those north bound trains were interesting this morning. Of course they're both united by their hatred of the mags.
  16. We signed a decent replacement in Sir Les back then. Can only hope we do likewise this time.
  17. I was at Arbroath v St Mirren in the Scottish league cup yesterday. Being so close to the sea it was one of the few places without any sunshine. St Mirren fans sang "Arbroath's fucking freezing..I wanna go home". No score bore draw too. A new ground and a good haul of beers though. Real old school ground too. Stood on the terraces.
  18. We could takes a leaf out of the mackems book with "Do, do, do...Anthony Elanga. Do, do, do...he's got a massive wanga". To the conga tune 😃
  19. Big gamble this spend for a club with relatively limited cash turnover. Hope it skints them, they dive and go bust.
  20. Aye, it's an interesting one.
  21. To me they were taken away as a kind of punishment for rapping in. It was the price you paid and the biggest deterrent against walking away for most fans. What now, if in the unlikely event we get such a huge allocation there's spare tickets for members? Are they going to say they go to members with 1 point, which would make it even harder/ nigh on impossible for those members not lucky enough in the Celtic ballot? As you say it doesn't make sense.
  22. Great statement from him. Bowing out proudly after giving his best. He's been a good one. Thanks Callum.
  23. Out of curiosity Stev how would you put your case to them? Genuine question. I gave my ST up then got it back but obviously that came at the expense of a large points tally. Probably got used to not being able to get away tickets now and therefore lost the habit but I'd love to get them back, as would many others no doubt.

I'm sure he used to go to the peregrine a lot.
