I don't get Grealish. I stopped watching football when he was a bit of a waster, come back few years later he's suddenly worth £100m. I reckon he'll get bored and flop, he's pretty daft and doesn't seem like he's that bothered about football.

Bassong was decent for 500k and sold for 10m or thereabouts after 1 season. I loved Habib Beye and was good value at 2m, but not worthy of the top spot. Probably Shay Given for me

It was really weird, have to think there was more to it. When he did eventually get a game for the reserves I'm sure he scored a hat-trick. He's achieved 1 in 3 or 4 with all clubs since, not necessarily top clubs but you would have thought he was a decent option given how bad the injuries were at points. To be frozen out like that was really odd.

Indeed. All that's happened is they've learned how not to do it. The idea that they've changed their opinions due to the uproar is completely laughable. These people well never change, they need forced out.

I'm in Edinburgh now, but from Glasgow. Generally everyone hates the old firm for a variety of reasons, but absolutely understands they can't live without them. Most clubs only survive due to the old firm payday, and one of the main aims of making it into the 'split' is for the additional games vs Rangers and Celtic. Scotland without those two is a much more dire situation than England without the 'big six'. England have some enormous clubs outside the big six, we have absolutely nothing. The teams are broke, there are no fans, there's no TV money. The European spots would vanish too. There's probably some universe, that without them everything becomes more even etc etc. I don't see it, the money the old firm bring to the SPL is simply too huge to imagine there being any real league without them. Below the SPL is sort of an unknown for me. However, some league 2 players play in my Wednesday 5s team pre-season, that probably tells you all you need to know...
