  1. I have said this before on here, but when Tommy Cooper died, and then Morcambe & Wise retired and then also died, I really felt that I would never get the "instantaneous, deep and completely uncontrollable endless belly laughs" that they had given me all my life, ever again. Then I found R T G !!!!!
  2. In 2023 I got sepsis from a tooth infection, my face was swollen to almost twice its size, on one side. I don't remember much about it and was in the RVI for a fortnight. My wife later told me that the consultant told her that I very nearly died of Sepsis. Lets hope it is NOT that for Eddie.
  3. I know you don't mean it . . . Bar Steward !!!!
  4. Lovely comment, are you a "listed ancient monument" yourself? So much grotty ageism on this forum at times.
  5. Not sure why anyone would write that sentence? I mean, what does it matter, we will not sell our best players, and none of our best players would leave NUFC to take a downward career step.
  6. My first season having a season ticket, was 1969/1970, I had only been able to afford occasional matches, as a young-un, before that. My first season (69/70) was the season AFTER we had just won the Fairs Cup - so some people actually called me a "Glory Hunter" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure how well the glory hunter tag worked out for me though???
  7. The Premier League should also reject that fraudulent sale - but will they???
  8. That is the best summary of the situation that I have heard, and I agree with what you say. Why I am writing about "the Wimbledons" in the first place, I do not know !!!
  9. I thought they still exist, but moved their club to Milton Keynes and changed their name to Milton Keynes Dons. A brand new club, nothing to do with the old Wimbledon Club that is now in Milton Keynes, now plays as Wimbledon AFC.
  10. Yes, I think over the next few weeks our results will start to calm the nerves of some supporters who are not yet 'certain' about our consistency levels! I hope we are not aiming for 5th, 4th place is the more logical objective, which could quickly become 3rd if Forest start to finally stumble a bit.
  11. As far as i know I don't think it goes onto the main Central Motorway at all, here is the route and timetable . . . 1 - Barrack Road (from St. James’ Park to Gallowgate) 2 - Gallowgate 3 - Percy Street 4 - Haymarket 5 - Great North Road 6 - Town Moor
  12. I was at the 76 final, but don't have any memories of the home-coming. I was also at the 74 final, and DO remember that homecoming, and also have newspaper cuttings of it . . .
  13. Or "New St James' Park" or, £100M sponsorship from Saudia Airlines, so - Saudia at New St James' Park
  14. As I understand it the process Spurs followed for their new stadium, partly on the footprint of their old stadium, is pretty much exactly how we would do the proposed 'Leazes Park Stadium'.
  15. Apart from the Crown Prince, is there really anyone in PIF who is 'higher' than Yasir?
  16. Many more seats needed than that. 23,000 additional seats in the "Leazes Park Stadium" at 75,000. That is what is needed to make the whole thing worth doing!
  17. Not a very nice thing to say, which group of zombies are you in then?
  18. Yeah, it's great isn't it - baby !!!
  19. 1969 was a F A B U L O U S year . . .
  20. As someone who has attended SJP (and loved it) since 1968, I can confirm that the current SJP is a very recent incarnation and is only about 25 years old. The proposed "Leazes Park Stadium" will be light years better for the club than the recent version of SJP and (as mentioned earlier) will cover part of the same 'footprint' as SJP, from all the information we currently have. It will be G R E A T !!!!!
  21. I think that the majority of people who support Newcastle United have come to realise that (sadly) staying at the current St James' Park would condemn our club to perpetual 'relative' mediocrity. Moving to a new stadium holding (hopefully) 75,000 people, that is almost in the same City Centre location as SJP (just a little bit further into Leazes Park) gives the supporters and the club the very best of all worlds. Significantly, we will then be able to start making progress against the Cartel of the Sky 6 and the Premier League. It will be G L O R I O U S !!!!!!!!!
