I know what you mean, but all teams are very different, the players are very different, and the quality of players here (and still to arrive) are very different from anything Eddie Howe has managed before. So, even if what you say is historically accurate, this is a brand NEW situation here, and 'the past' has no real relevance at all.

Interesting article . . . "Newcastle United have the money to buy a floor…there’s only so far they can fall now and that’s what separates the elite from the rest." https://www.football365.com/news/how-soon-will-newcastle-united-force-talk-of-a-big-seven-in-the-premier-league
  3. What, the brand new East Stand from 1972/1973?
  4. All the world's top teams will be and are interested in signing him for huge money all of the time. We will not sell him, why would we? He does not want to move and . . er . . we don't need the money !! Stories will always persist.
  5. I don't, but I do like any excuse (even caused by the Morons on RTG) to talk about my first season going to matches as a young-un at St James supporting NUFC in 1969. Our Fabulous F A I R S C U P !!!
  6. AND this recent one from the 50th Anniversary in 2019 . . .
  7. Yes indeed it is very good. I like this one which was published by NUFC and the players themselves, in 1969 . . .

  9. Good result, we were the better team throughout, apart from a few quick breakaways Spurs had in the first ten minutes. H A P P Y
  10. This is a new Newcastle United, we have a squad. I have a preference of which players from our squad are not injured and may then start the match, but I am happy with any members of our squad playing today. We are not 'guaranteed' a win today (or any day) but it is likely that we will win today
  11. Yes, we are likely to finish M U C H higher. There is actually quite a strong possibility (they have been lucky a few times this season so far) that they will be relegated back to the Third Division at the end of this season, a strong possibility.
  12. They would say exactly the same if we had just won the Champions League ten years in a row. They are very funny to read and listen to though - for me, in my life they have completely replaced Tommy Cooper !!! Far and away the most and deepest laughs I have had since Tommy Cooper sadly passed away. "Juss like that" . . .
  13. I'll say no more . . .
  14. I feel that it is no longer relevant to "look back on our record" for anywhere or anything, prior to last October. We are a new club, a brand new club, with new management and a new team situation. Nothing prior to October last year is of any relevance, so no point in "looking back" at trends prior that date!
  15. True, but there are other plans for the Arena (and the area around it) site.
  16. Yes, some people still have a L O N G way to go to actually take that in, and understand the 100% change that has already occurred.
  17. And nothing we did, all match, contributed hugely to the very pressurised Brentford defence mistakes then?
  18. Yes, I saw a Video where that was said. It said "expansion to 62,000 was APPROVED". I knew it couldn't mean 'planning approved', in the way that it sounded, so I checked and (like Stifler says above) there is no sign of a Planning Application being submitted, never mind approved. I wonder what else could be meant by the use of the word 'approved', if it isn't planning?
  19. Yes, as I say, the time is rapidly approaching . . .
  20. Yes, they have always made that very clear, thankfully.
