  1. It's been a great year, and this is only the F I R S T of many more to come, and all of them will be better than this year . . all of them. (1) A great year for NUFC. (2) A great year for Saudi Arabia and its people. The absolutely inevitable "drip-drip" of influence on that country from it assimilation into the world via NUFC / UK and many other things and many other countries. There are some that cannot see that, I know, but even they will eventually see what is happening - even if they never quite get around to admitting it!
  2. Do you not yet think, as I do, that the time is very rapidly approaching when we can expect that high quality players - realising what is going on here - will CHOOSE us, over and above these other "more options to choose from" clubs, whoever they may be?
  3. I'm not aware of many businesses in the world that do not need finance to succeed. The more financial clout the greater the success. You know "I love it" (as someone once said) that we now have the opportunity to try, to challenge and to succeed.

In nine days time we will have "been back" for a year!
  5. This 'Nations League' thing is less relevant than a friendly match. This competition (if that's what it is) is a complete waste of everyones time. It will disappear soon, I hope, and the sooner the better.
  6. I was talking from our countries (and my own) perspective, and my post says it all.
  7. Friendlies are at least "known" to be that . . meaningless practice matches. This effectively pointless, unwanted, tournament is trying to be a tournament, but actually ends up meaningless. I prefer the 'honesty' of friendlies, that I can happily ignore.
  8. What a burst of humour there has been on this thread - it's driving me nuts!
  9. I don't know anyone who is doing that, but I know a lot of people who are showing respect.
  10. Wow, I must be T H I C K. I just cannot "grasp" that at all. I'm sure decency will prevail.

  13. Yes, but I would think that it is a "true fake", in as much as it is very likely to be an UNDERSTATEMENT of what is actually constantly going on.
  14. Could be that VAR is as corrupt as the Premier League seems to be itself, it would seem . . .
  15. This article hits the spot . . . https://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1143514841?-11058:809
  16. Put simply, the Premier League have reacted specifically to our Takeover and are pushing through rule-change after rule change (this latest one is just one of them) in an attempt to put us in a financial straight-jacket in order to protect their six Premer Clubs. It seems impossible for us to catch up now. However - I do have a great deal of faith in our new owners, I always have had, and I do think they will find many ways to get around all these obstacles, and that they will guide us to the very top. That will definitely happen, as they did not buy us to finish 2nd. However, it will take longer than it would have if these "all new fiddles" had not been introduced. P A T I E N C E is needed.

  18. We have not paid over the odds. Time has moved on, our club has moved on, we need the worlds top ranked players now and that is how much they cost.
  19. Exactly, that has nothing to do with the continous urban area, that is all to do with the same parochial pride that many people feel.
  20. The original 'Metroland' was part of the Newcastle City Region anyway, we are all (Newcastle/Gateshead/North Tyneside/South Tyneside) just part of the same continuous conurbation anyway. Local authority 'boundaries' are only there for the organisation of public services like Bin Collections, etc, there is no actual separation!
  21. Bruno is, we know, VERY happy here, but in the light of the recent (highly speculative) Real Madrid 'interest' in him this would make him even happier, if it could happen. Not a reason to buy Paqueta in itself - but certainly a PLUS point !!!
