  1. Think you're a being a bit harsh on Colo, but then I've was constantly impressed with him in La Liga over the last two seasons before joining us. I'm confident he'll be a good buy for us - he looked a hell of a lot better with Beye in the defence as well. Everything else is pretty on the ball for me.
  2. They still with Leo Franco? He's generally a solid keeper isn't he?
  3. Best be careful what you're saying, the forum doesn't want a lawsuit on its hands.
  4. Bet that's identical to the Kinnear/Hughton team talks. It's possible. The cavemen have the same shaped forehead as Damien Duff after all..
  5. There's really no point to this thread since you're trying to sell the idea to us as if we'd be able to implement it in some way. The fans have suggested this formation, the pundits have suggested this formation and even some of the players have suggested this formation. We're stuck with 4-4-2 and Shola Ameobi. For what it's worth I reckon a change of formation would help and could even ease the midfield problem if implemented correctly.. but it just won't happen.
  6. Because we're a binge nation. We're uncouth dicks who drink wayyyy too much and aren't liked by most of Europe because of it. Cajun is right, we tend to drink before, inbetween and after the match anyway but there's always a slight chance that idiots will take it too far if it was changed and this small chance is what stops the rules being changed in the forseeable future.
  7. I haven't seen it, but if Bent was offside when Palacios kicked it then yeah he was in an offside position. There's a different between being in an offside position and being penalised for being offside though.
  8. O'Brien was 10 million? What's that got to do with it? You could say has Coloccini had 8 years in the Premiership? Argentine international? Worth 10 million isn't performing because he hasn't had 8 years experience in the Premier League? On this years evidence i would rather have Titus Bramble, not even kidding, Coloccini hasn't been any better has cost us more and im sure he is on a fair wage with good bonuses. Add to the fact he has hardly any attributes to make him a success in this league, it's not about adapting he genuinely can't cope with the speed and the psychical side of the game. I don't believe the comparison with O'Brien is fair, 10 million compared to peanuts for O'Brien and the latter was in a Champions League team believe or not He hasn't even had a season in the premiership and you're writing him off. He wasn't all that in his first season for Depor either but soon became one of their best and most consistent players. You're acting as if he's as bad as Boumsong and he's no way near. The original post compared Coloccini to O'Brien which is daft, as O'Brien didnt cost a fraction of Colo's transfer fee and played in a successful side. Coloccini genuinely don't look much better at the moment, and am i right in saying he has been our player with the most appearances? I'm not writing him off, expected alot more for an established Argentine international. He has been very disappointing. Bassong has really shown him up, and he has barely any experience compared to his team mate. Yeah I couldn't be bothered to go back and quote the original. Colo has shown at other clubs that he's a very reliable defender given the opportunity. He also looked solid in his first few appearances when Keegan was here and he was getting loads of praise as I remember. The fact that he has the most appearances this season is nothing but a bonus for me. I'd rather have a slightly shaky defender that has shown his class in other leagues that stays injury free than a Woodgate who has shown his class in this league but is never available to play. He'll settle in time I'm sure. He's shown that he has some adapting to do for this league but I've yet to see him make a major howler of a mistake like Taylor, Boumsong, Bramble etc. etc.

  10. I've just skim read most of the last few pages.. but I reckon I've got the jist. So we've decided that gay people are fine and it doesn't matter? Just so I'm up to speed.
  11. Emre hardly ever played for us. We miss Dyer more and he hardly played either.
  12. Yeah, the tackle on Gerrard was a definite red and the one on Martins (if I remember correctly) was stopping a probably chance, but not an obvious goal scoring opportunity. The commentary team I had on yesterday (can't remember who) were adamant it wasn't a red card because Rio was behind Vidic and therefore Vidic wasn't "last man". I wish the people who are supposed to be telling me about the game would learn the rules - moreso when they started going on about Man Utd losing Vidic for three games. I know exactly what you mean with this. It's their job to know the rules of the sport surely and their inaccurate citation of the rules breeds incompetence in the people that listen and take this tripe on. I don't think it even says 'last man' at all in the rulebook... ..just checked. Nope.

  14. Aye but with Beye being a much better footballer than him he can sit back on the bench as far as I'm concerned. ah no doubt, i meant become a rb for the rest of his career. he'll start at RB against arsenal imo though. He's doing alright there because he knows how to get forward (I'd see him up front ahead of Ameobi tbh). If Arshavin turns it on again though, he'll tear him a new arsehole cos the lad can't defend. Surely then we should play our best defender against the Russian. Bassong would put Arshavin in his pocket, would he not? Aye, Fergie is always moving Rio and Vidic to full back against tricky wingers. Aye, almost as often as you move the goalposts. If Arshavin is going to make mincemeat of Taylor we’ll lose by a hatful. So why not get one of our best defenders to mark the Russian out of the game and let Taylor worry about Bartender? Why give our worst defender the hardest task? He's not our worst defender. He's s*** though. And I don't think we should be moving our best (left footed) centre half to right back, no. I think that's a stupid idea. So you’d go for Taylor in the full knowledge Arshavin will tear him an arsehole!? I’d be interested to see how you ranked our defenders? Is Edgar a better defender than Taylor, is Enrique better than Collocini? As Dave says, if Habib's available then I'd pick him. If not, then Ryan Taylor. Is that the same Ryan Taylor who gifted MU three points last week? Aye, because Steven Taylor never drops a bollock.
  15. Have a pop at Colo all you want, but I can't think of any major errors he's made while been here. He's been sloppy at times and had poor games or made poor decisions that have led to conceding but I'm struggling to think of any major howlers. Taylor on the other hand..

The bit in bold is all I read. The rest I took as filler.
  17. What have you been told about thinking, ey? I honestly can't see how anybody can be optimistic. We have cretins in charge of our team, cretins giving out the 'tactics', cretins choosing the team and cretins in charge of making substitutions on match day. I still can't fathom subbing Owen for Shola 'I insist of giving away freekicks and being offside for EVERY FUCKING DEADBALL SITUATION' Ameobi.
  18. But the system means that they don't have to since the odds ensure a return over time.
  19. We had a good manager, now we don't simple as. Ashley is gambling big time and it's down to luck, not skill if he wins. How ironic that our Managing Director runs a casino. I've said this before Running a casino = squeezing money out of deluded punters = running NUFC You're wrong, his role at the casino was customer service and not the gambling side. This is why he was brought to NUFC.. to improve customer service. Personally I think he's done a terrible job. A casino doesn't need to squeeze money out of customers since they do that themselves with their own addiction and the odds placed against them in the first place.. the casino just needs to make the stay amiable enough for the customers to want to come back in the future. NUFC is vaguely similar thinking about it.
  20. Time to break that STAT.............. IN STYLE! Our players can't even break a sweat.
