  1. Hardly a positive note.
  2. Its a petty dig. It would be like Hughton commenting on the Geovanni situation. Not really because Orange Chops' comments were in context, what with them playing against us today.

    Souness

I don't think Souness was the only reason for our decline, by any means. Also, with both Liverpool and us, he took over clubs at a bad time, but having said that, I think there's a flaw in his man management skills which regularly gets exposed when the going gets tough. So definitely not. It exasperates me that half the time we're talking about stability, and the other half we're talking about changing the manager yet again. This has been such a traumatic season, on and off the field, that we can't judge Kinnear at this point. He's been firefighting, and providing he still has the support of the dressing room, he should be given a summer transfer window and another season to show what he can do. Hardly a bad time was it. This is a bad time. Two different kinds of bad time. With Souness, he was taking over teams that had already peaked and were just starting to decline. A bit of rebuilding was needed but expectations were still high and a manager in that situation is under a lot of pressure. In some ways, it's easier on the new man to take over a club at the bottom where the only way is up. Trouble is, I'm not sure that any manager taking over our club is spared the problem of high expectations. I see what you're saying but I don't agree really. If Souness was to take over now he'd take us down I reckon. All he did back then was dismantle a Champions League team and give us our worst premiership finishes. Imagine the damage he would have done without 50m to blow in a window.

  5. Is that not just the current shirt with a shitty badge on it? Yeah that's not the new strip, it's just the current one with a badge showing that won the club world cup.

  7. It's illegal to show 3pm games on TV in the UK. I thought that was just for Saturdays.. 3pm kick offs are new to this season aren't they? Either way they piss me off. I want fixtures back to normal. Games have always been Saturday at 3 unless it has to rescheduled or TV. Yeah sorry I fluffed up my original post, I meant that 3pm Sunday kick offs are relatively new.
  8. Young black Frenchman might sign for Arsenal. Fucking shocker, that.
  9. Where did you hear that? Umbro are wanktestic. I heard it ages ago. I don't know that it's umbro for sure obviously, but it'd make sense what with Ashley's ties with umbro.
  10. Oh, and I heard that in the next few seasons Ashley is going to cut ties with adidas and we'll be going with someone like umbro.
  11. Fanfuckingtastic f***ing beutiful that small old style adidas logo looks cool with this design as well i hope this is the new shirt! That logo is for casual wear clothing, as opposed to the sports logo that we have. You won't get that logo on any football kits coming out anytime in the near future sadly.

  13. Only works in any league in a 5 man midfield. Villarreal play with 2 strikers don't they? Yeah, they did generally when Riquelme was there. He could work in a 4 man midfield I reckon, just not a flat one. He'd work fine sat behind the two strikers creating chances and laying off passes to the two upfront.
  14. as will the days of top flight football for better or worse, as you say In the long run healthy financial status is way much important than big money buys! Fat Fred is one of the main reasons why we're fighting against the relegation every season now and the current global financial crisis haven't helped us one bit. No, the reason we're fighting relegation is because of this current regime. They have had 4 transfer windows to improve us and are now on their 3rd manager who they have driven to another triple heart bypass. We may have been on the edge near the end of the last board, but it's this one that's deciding to push us over the edge. pathetic. point scoring to the extreme. Fine, take that part out but the point still stands. If we get relegated you can hardly blame it on the old regime. To do so would be stupid. And I honestly reckon that him taking the Newcastle job has been a factor in his reoccurring heart problem. His original problem was one reason as to why he'd been out of the game so long. The fact that we're also bringing him back to carry on says a lot about the club as well.
  15. Our goal difference is well aware of this.

  17. To be fair he has been out for a while with a broken toe. He scored two goals in his reserve debut (I think that's right) then broke it. I reckon if he hadn't he'd be getting more of a look in under Houghton anyway.
  18. I didn't see him in Spain, but 9 goals in 21 games is a pretty excellent goals to games ratio. Out of interest what makes you think he couldn't be a prolific goal scorer if given the chance? I suppose he could be but from what I saw of him in La Liga he was more of a target man striker with his back to goal that brought others into play. It's worth bearing in mind that 3 of his 9 goals came in his first game for Depor last season. The team played better with him in it though generally and looked more of a threat.
  19. decent at best? He looked f***ing class last season, even at 21 Yep. He wasn't - and probably never will be - a prolific goalscorer, but he was really good at bringing others into play and using his strength to cause problems with the oppositions defence. EDIT - After a quick look I found this article on Guillem Balague's website that came out when we signed him: http://www.guillembalague.com/blog_desp.php?id=66&titulo=Newcastle:%20Xisco%20under%20the%20spotlight It pretty much backs up what I've said about him and yes I do watch La Liga.
  20. Pretty sure we had just as many under Sam as anyone else. Yeah we did. It started off promising but then the 'injury crisis' hit. Another major issue is our complete lack of depth in our squad. If we had more players of a decent quality we wouldn't feel it as much when it inevitably comes around. I'm with Skirge and I reckon that there are certain individuals who just put it on.
  21. He's been the physio for a team that has spent the past decade at the top of the injury league table. He is s***. I mean just look at the fat b******. What has his weight got to do with the fact that he's a physio? Injuries come from improper training 9 times out of 10. The problem will stem from either the training ground or the coaching before it comes from the physios, all they do is rehabilitate the players from injuries picked up. Hardly their fault if managers choose to rush players back instead of easing them in.
  22. Was it not 6.5, as we had to pay his loyalty bonus as he resfused to leave man city otherwise. I think man city were refusing to pay it due to his "problems". Yeah it was something like that but I can't remember the actual fee. I think he had a release clause but we ended up paying £500k over that to cover the loyalty bonus or something.
  23. I'm not bothered about 'Duke' to be honest. I'm more excited about having some CMs back.
