I'm going to take this thread as a heat of the moment thing. He's a horrible, horrible manager that destroyed our team and set us off to where we are now.
  2. Surely you've been to a match not involving your team before and been swept up in it when the team scores? I know I have with the Sheff Wed & Barnsley games I've been to. I think that's what annoys me the most to be honest, having the piss taken out of me for supporting Newcastle. It's like calling someone 'four eyes' surely.
  3. Remind me again of your footballing credentials and experience in the game at a professional level? I'm genuinely interested.
  4. I feel that I'm starting to watch the games now out of habit. In the last 10 minutes of the match today when everyone was going mental I just didn't care. I've got enough crap going on without this shit team ruining every one of my weekends. Saying that though, I doubt I'll stop watching.
  5. I've always assumed it's because their bodies are tuned into performing for 90 minutes at a time. I always got cramp whenever I was in a cup match and it went into overtime. Maybe muscle fatigue kicks in after so long and the lactic acid gets involved. Or maybe Lennon is a faggot. This entire subject is a minefield.
  6. Yeah but that's what is making the story so laughable. I'd rather keep Wise, with Kinnear in charge than have Kinnear doing this role and our only two first team coaching being in charge of the first team. The whole story is bollocks anyway. What a waste of my eyesight.
  7. A bit simplistic don't you think? It's not as him being gone or the circumstances surrounding his departure could have no ramifications on our future.. I don't think it's simplistic, more jaded. No amount of moaning, sulking and getting pissed off will make any difference. I've started to think that I read this board and support the team more out of habit than anything at the moment as the last several seasons have just battered the emotion that I have for the game out of me. Shay has gone, the board seemingly want to back Kinnear and there's fuck all ambition being shown. I've got enough going on to burst a blood vessel over this tripe being dished up to me week in week out. If I could I'd probably walk away for good but as I'm sure it is with you too you just can't. Doesn't mean that I feel the same amount of love and passion I used to. Supporting this club at the moment is like seeing the first girl I ever truly love become a crack whore.
  8. How the hell can you have a go at Boro's support? We only got 45,000 for one of our games. It's a disgrace according to most papers and they tend to be pretty on the ball.
  9. Haha it was the age that I went to my first match, had the strip bought for me and I fell in love with the club from then. I was always going to end up supporting Newcastle with my family.
  10. ...do you think you'll ever see Newcastle: Win the Carling Cup Win the FA Cup Win the Premier League Win the UEFA Cup (or equivalent) Win the Champions League Just curious to see how much people really believe we'll see us lift some silverware. I'm only 23 and I've been supporting the club properly since about the age of 4 I'd say. I really don't know if I'll ever see us achieve any of the above.. but most fans I talk to seem to think that we definitely will. What do you think?
  11. I'm not going to argue that we looked awful and it was looking inevitable that it we were in a relegation fight til the end - the Blackburn game springs to mind where we tried and tried and they got a goal from a counter attack at the death. I'm not going to argue because I'd be wrong. Like I said before, having Martins & Viduka come back was a massive, massive boost for us and we didn't start to look crap until Viduka was replaced at half time against Chelsea at which point we went don't by 2 goals. The fact is though that Keegan made a formation to accommodate the very best players and got them playing together very quickly. You could argue that anybody could have done this but playing Michael Owen as an attacking midfielder from deep? I hadn't heard anybody ever suggest this on here, or any other manager bring it up whilst working with him for that matter. Everybody on here were saying that they couldn't wait to get rid of Owen until Keegan gave him a new position and then the opinion changed amongst a fair few and his potential in a good attacking system became apparent. You're right that key players coming back got the ball rolling but to say that Keegan had no part in it is just stupid. I'm not a blind Keegan follower, but I'll give the man credit when he deserves it. That goes for any player in the squad aswell.
  12. It took time to bring the change about FFS. He had to get the players minds switched from nagative football to open football. Birmingham was the turning point, where got a draw but could have won it. Libertine always sniping at KK, any little chance. Its ok tho, you just bend history to suit your argument. it took time to get 3 very good players back (and staying fit) to take the team forward in matches and score goals. the front 3 took the pressure off the s*** midfield the same as a good midfield will take the pressure off a defence. simple as that. Obviously the manager doesn't deserve any credit at all for changing the whole shape of the team though. to some extent. "playing your best players" is what its called at other clubs. dropping smith and ameobi to play martins and viduka isnt rocket science. You're absolutely pathetic. martins or viduka didnt start a game for keegan before the birmingham match and then they come back in and we start doing well. did keegan "change their mentality" or did we just get 2 very decent/vital players back in place of 2 s*** ones? the keegan thing. obviously. The players coming back was obviously instrumental but it was Keegans tactics that got us the results we did. Not many managers would have had the balls to play Owen, Martins & Viduka together. Allardyce certainly didn't.
  13. We were terrible last game, it's just West Brom were even worse. This is a terrible first XI. Pathetic. That is because we are terrible, but at least we got players in an around the box last game, which is what we really need. Martins andJonas are for carpet teams playing from the back that will try to dominate possession, but we can't play like that. Don't talk soft. We played like that when Keegan was in charge. We play better with Jonas & Martins in the team than when they're out of the team. I can understand Martins not being involved but why Jonas isn't is just beyond me.
  14. We were terrible last game, it's just West Brom were even worse. This is a terrible first XI. Pathetic.
  15. I just realised that I didn't watch the match and it could have been just a terrible ref. This the case?
  16. It's a Derby match, kinda explains it a bit.
  17. He tried to sell up because that's what we as fans wanted, he refused to return calls when Man City's new owners were interested in us, that was before Keegan left. I thought he just asked for a load of money, which can be read in two ways.
