  1. Summer is the real test imo
  2. It's not like they need to, is it? They may as well send on a team of ball boys and mascots.

Just saw this but a great point. I never understood why he and Pardew got such easy questions in the press Because if they ask anything other than "What is your favourite colour John?" They'll get banned. Still doesn't excuse not giving him a hard time when he deserves it. Saying that Carver would probably struggle trying to answer that question tbf.
  5. Absolutely this, if he "puts the club up for sale" it's because he wants us off his back, that's all he did it for last time and it worked.
  6. f***ing Les Ferdinand, man. When did he become such an ignorant c***? I was reading this last night and shaking my head in disbelief every time I read LF. He's so far disconnected from the club he's just regurgitating cliché. "Be careful what you wish for?" Aye fuck off! Some local "experts" doing a complete 180 on their earlier comments there like. I appreciate what they're saying nut it sounds a bit hollow after they've previously backed the ownership. Rob Lee though, love the guy!

How do you seriously put yourself forward for a head coach roll when you admit yourself you can't control what your players do on the pitch and evidently what happens off it? It's like watching a 3 year old trying to take a year 1 class, anarchy is breaking loose.
  8. Any idiot can pick up a pencil and draw a dick picture (Williamson), it takes an artist with vision, talent and flair to make you stand back and appreciate a work of art.

    Steve McClaren

That assumes we're aiming for the top half. Ashley's aiming for 17th. I think he covered that in the statement he made, IF you're aiming for top 10 you don't go for McClaren, who you do go for is your statement of intent, ergo, you go for McClaren you intend to hover mid-lower table.
  10. It's funny in a depressing sort of way. Ben Arfa was half arsed in training but often brilliant when the game kicked off, yet perversely the current squad are apparently brilliant in training but quite clearly half arsed once the game kicks off. Have you seen who they're up against in training? I'd imagine 90% of us on here would look like early 90s Shearer against that defence!

    John Carver

The thing that is laughable about it all, is that the same people saying Carver isn't to blame, will be saying we shouldn't have sacked Pardew. So if it's totally the players then you'd have to assume the management didn't matter surely? It just doesn't make any logical sense. These players had a top half finish as a real possibility under Pardew and he was pretty dreadful, so if Carver is competent, the pattern of form should continue. I'd expect a bottom half championship team to have a good shot at getting 9 points from 18 games. Burnley are basically a championship squad and their form is much better than that, so are people really trying to say Carver's squad is worse than Burnley's? The value of management is massively overlooked in the UK and it's still viewed with an air of scepticism, as if skills can be replaced with hard work and graft. The bottom line is that if you have a moron in charge you will fail, no matter how much effort he puts in. We need to work smarter, not harder and it's debatable whether or not Carver is even working hard, but we know he'll never be smart. They understand very well. They just won't criticise a British man in charge. That's it. Lambert was awful for Villa and he rarely got slagged off. Ditto Warnock. It's only the foreign managers or managers of top sides that can constant criticism. Definitely feels like with British Football, there's a horrible undercurrent of Xenophobia running through everything.      not criticising British managers equals xenephobia? The two most popular managers in England are Mourinho and Van Gaal, and the British media turned like savages on Moyes once it became clear he would be sacked. Sorry that they don't criticise Carver, but if a man is trying to hang himself, why would they ask questions and stop the suicide? The more retarded a manager comes across, the more the media will let them go for it. "horrible undercurrent of xenephobia" FFS, do you people think that your outlook is respected? What do you mean "you people"? Top TT reference! "I'm a lead farmer mother fucker!" Best line in the whole film.
  12. Tiote plays best when he's asked to make the tackle and lay it off to someone else, when you ask him to do anything but that it becomes a car crash. Tiote sits back and mops up, lays it off to Abied who can control the tempo of the game, that would be the best pairing imho.

  14. At the moment you'd back Manyoo youth squad getting a result against Hull, they're just as desperate as us at the moment. Can't see them being up for this even with survival at stake.
  15. I heard half a lager and a kebab aught to do the trick
  16. For whatever reason Carver doesn't rate Johnny Foreigner Abied and likes to stick with true British grit Taylor, sums him up really. Effort and bluster over actual skill every day of the week. Colback isn't the worst player on the pitch, he shouldn't be in our starting line up, however given the options there's other players to worry more about.
  17. http://cdn.meme.am/instances/500x/60833768.jpg Anyone want to buy a Mole_Toonfan? Going cheap!
  18. Bruce is just another Pardew, shit, dinosaur, hoof ball merchant. No thanks, move on.
  19. Never thought I'd be jealous of Boro - but in Aitor Karanka they've a young up and coming Manager. He's a really likeable guy as well. Same can't be said about our last 2 managers. Tbf our only likeable managers in the last 20 years have been Keegan, Sir Bobby and Hughton, the rest have been train wrecks. It's always, always been our problem. Ashley needs to get this right and the rest can fall into place, hire someone good and give him free reign on where HE wants to take us. Don't tell him no cups, no Europe, let him try and take the club as far as he can on whatever financial constraints he has. I don't think half of our players are as bad as they are right now, they just need a leader and direction. Not saying this summer is the real test because I lost that hope a long time ago, but a good managerial appointment can change the face of an entire club. If it is Carver, whatever the league, I'm done.

    Ryan Taylor

Spot on, Carver's insistence to stick by Raylor at CM while Abied rots on the bench is obscene. He may not rate Abied, he may even blame him for one or two mistakes, but even Stevie Wonder knows he's 10 times the footballer Ryan fucking Taylor is.
  21. Inspirational half time team talk/substitutions by abused lasagne face there.
  22. Should have come out the blocks with Cisse, Aarons and Abied and subbed them off when they were tired. This slow, clogger s*** is f***ing ret***ed
  23. Last time we played these we won 1-0 to go joint 5th in the League with Manyoo, never should have got rid of Pardew...
