Agree. Definitely our worst trait right now, nothing else matters if we have no confidence, it doesn't matter who we field at the moment or where we put them they are devoid of any confidence to do anything with the ball.

So now the imagined success of Pardew as manager is something to use against him Can we take it any further, or is it time to draw a line under this tedious silliness ? In reference to my quote, in the unlikely event that happened, I am sure it would be despite, not because of Pardew. Hence the smugness would be unjustified. If however, we played some decent football (guffaw) and won it in merit Pardew would get the plaudits he deserved. However if you wish to take it out of context an attempt to belittle me then have fun with it. If it also helps you to stomach the fact that we have an outdated, out of his depth, inept manager by condemning me then by all means skew your argument to support your delusions.

I'd love it if we could finally win some silverware and this is the easiest route to do so, none of the bigger teams take it seriously, we could feasibly be in with a chance. However, imagine if we did win that ever elusive piece of silver, imagine the smugness of Pardew as he manages to bring us something even the great Sir Bobby and the idolised Keegan couldn't do! His over inflated ego would be close to exploding and inevitably Ashley would use the ensuing euphoria to extend his contract by another 8 years at the point of least resistance. Just imagine!

I can't vote with my feet because I live too far away, but I'll do whatever it takes, no more merchandise, no away games in my neck of the woods, I can't even mustre the enthusiasm to watch a game on TV anymore. All the excuses for last season and people on here condoning them and the circumstances have changed but the footballs still the same. Sick to the back teeth with it all, Pardew, JFK and the fat man can all go fuck themselves, I don't even recognise this club anymore. Not even as good as palace, but then we probably can't expect to compete with them! Pfft, fucking joke!

I honestly don't have any confidence going into this game and it's Pardew that has made me feel like that and I don't work with him every day. If he can zap that out of me from 200 miles away I can only imagine how the players feel, literally drowning in negativity. He won't field a full squad, we'll have a couple of "purples" on the field but the Ameobi's will get 90 minutes and it'll be 10 behind the ball looking to hit it first time to the front man on the counter. Same shit, different day, it doesn't work in any league.

And he can't resist telling us how good West Ham are and we can only hope to beat them, I can feel the positivity!!

Confidence, as said is bred by the manager, when he is publicly praising every other team we play and bigging up their strengths he is undermining our own players. This lack of belief is rightly affecting the team and his negativity concerning our status and our inability to not only keep up with the likes of the Manchester clubs but now the likes of Southampton too is bringing our confidence to its knees! It's one of Pardews many flaws and you could say the root of all our problems as it what affects his team sheets, tactics and ultimately performances and results. If I could change one thing abou Pardew it would be this, everything else would fall in line.

It's amazing how many people miss the point entirely to support their argument. No one is saying we should beat these teams and other teams are battering them when we don't. The argument is we have no fight, no plan and no spine, we go in, stand back and roll over and watch them tear us apart, we don't even give them a game. I wouldn't mind too much but we're doing the same with most teams these days. We can't expect to be competing with the likes of Southampton and Swansea ffs!

Pardew is way out of his depth at every level, just tried to list off his ineptitudes but realised I haven't the time to type it all out, I cannot think of a single positive I can attribute to him. Last nights result was innevitable, we all knew that, no one expected anything more, however it would have been nice if we at least tried for something more instead of just putting 11 "men" on the pitch as is our minimum requirement in a match! The people saying our next match will be the marker of where we really stand are deluding themselves, if we can't fire ourselves up to have a go at City knowing they won't be reviled for losing, how will we fire up for a match we're expected to win with the pressure on? If we play with last nights tactics we'll get buried again. Pardew has the front to stick this out to the bitter end and even then, when JFK inevitably replaces him, we'll be lucky to stay up. Sissoko, Anita, Ben Arfa, Colloccini, Marveaux, Tiote, Cisse, Santon, Krul, these are all good players, we've seen what they can do and with the right leadership I firmly believe they can be a top 8 team. Trouble is Pardew and Kinnear will never get the best out of them. I don't entirely blame Pardew and I don't entirely blame Kinnear, the whole mess is down to the owner and his complete ineptitude in running a club, he's in charge and he's the only one who has the power to correct the problems we have. The Oxford English definition of Fraud is a person or thing intended to deceive others, typically by unjustifiably claiming or being credited with accomplishments or qualities. Does that not sum Pardew up?

Tbf Cisse is one of those players that can have a shit game and score you one from nowhere, I wouldn't trust relying on Gouf for a goal, great effort, little end product (tin hat on).

We tend to do best when we play the better teams first, historically, even last year we started with a win against Spuds, we usually get Arsenal or one of the Manchester teams and nearly always come out with at least a draw, of course after that it comes unstitched and we go on a marathon losing streak!

The longer this goes on the more it seems like he'll be off "too late for us to find a replacement" then in January we'll spend some if the money and the rest will vanish into the ether.

It's unfair to blame his tally purely on his ability, yes there are chances he should be scoring that he isn't, he's not in the same class as say RVP, he's in the same class as those strikers that infuriate at times. For him to do well, as has been said, we need to change our approach to games. He's not gonna take down a 40 yard pass every game, take on two defenders and rifle a shot past the keeper from 18 yards, cuz that's all he's getting! He needs support in and around the box, a slide through pass from some pressing play, or a simple one-two with someone in support, a midfielder running into the box and pushing it sideways in front of him, etc.. How often do we see that in a game? We're too negative and scared to press up the pitch, unless we get bodies higher up we're never gonna see him netting 20 a season. Again it boils down to playing for our opponents weaknesses rather than our strengths and unless we change that fundamental floor we'll never see any of our "purples" playing to their full potential unfortunately.

I've had about enough of this shit now, I keep looking every day but it goes from bad to worse, it's like asking to be tortured. Useless cretins in charge and it won't get any better any time soon, where's a billionaire that just wants to waste a little cash when you need one? Another year of mediocrity ahead, if we stay up that'll be success in MAs book. So long as the money keeps rolling in who gives a shit where we finish? Training doesn't have the same intensity and pressure and it'll be interesting to see when the gloves are off and we at some point we are inevitably under the cosh if we stick with game plan or revert to type.
