Hated football growing up, I used to play American Football in school, then later I played Basketball in college, believe it or not I am English and have always lived here. Then came Euro '96 and I was hooked, the tournament finished and I didn't want to stop watching so I chose to follow whoever that guy Shearer played for, was almost a Blackburn fan in doing so! 27 years of mostly shite with a sprinkling of almost and some fun in Europe and stupidly I am still here, can't get it out of my blood I'm a Geordie at heart and always will be.

ASM played well that 2nd half, he makes things happen and I think we've missed his ingenuity, Isak starting to look sharp, he's the real deal, Joelinton an absolute monster again today. Hopefully Bruno isn't crocked, Trippier had a poor game, hopefully out of his system now. On the whole a solid if uninspiring display but good teams grind out wins.

Dropping him in that team today was akin to buying a £300k Rolls Royce and filling it with red diesel. Good match practice to get him up to speed, nothing more.

One silver lining is Isaak finally making his come back, he looked a little off the pace but its to be expected after such a lengthy lay off, hopefully that's the end of Wood cameos, he's been a great servant to the club in our time of need but that needs to be the last we see of him.

Well done Wednesday, came to play football and took their chances well, we had enough chances to at least draw this game but our fringe players wouldn't get in a lot of championship sides, still a lot of work to be done on transfers before we can have a squad able to take on multiple competitions. We're still in the league cup and 3rd in the league, let's not make this a defining moment in our season and use the extra rest to our benefit.
