Would love to know what Pardew's own ambitions are for the side this year if he's coming out with those comments. We spend an entire season aiming to get into Europe, we get there, then all he does is bitch and moan about it being a strain on the players. Would he rather we not be in Europe at all? If we were not, would results have been any different? Fwiw I think Pardew was more than happy to toe the party line in the summer when we didn't bring anyone in. Now the shit is hitting the fan it's a useful excuse. That's not to say I don't disagree with his rhetoric regarding squad size btw.

Whilst some are undoubtedly shit, it's up to Pardew to do something about it and the way in which they perform on a weekly basis. I'd be more inclined to give him my full backing if I thought he was taking steps to remedy some of the all too obvious flaws in our performances. But frankly we're seeing the same shit every week. You can pretty much predict the trajectory of our game plan these days: slow start, slight improvement after 20, slight attempt at passing the ball about a bit, back to hoofing, etc. As things stand I'm not seeing any improvement whatsoever in the set-up or otherwise.
