I don't think our 442 gets the best out of our players at all. On current form I'd also stick Ba in the middle and Marv on the left for Cisse. Desperately disappointed at the lack of fitness / sharpness shown so far from some of our lot. Don't look ready at all.

Yep. So true. Everton just came out of nowhere with their investment, and Jol and Laudrup are no mugs and have done very well with fairly average resources. Very competitive season ahead. I think what's most irksome, is that none of these sides have spent mega wonga either. All have bought very astutely imo, so if Ashley didn't go for Debuchy et al owing to price, we should have had better options. Fuck them. Fuck them all.

This. Will be tough for us to achieve what we did last year based on the extent to which other teams have strengthened alone imo. Some really good sides will be pushing for European spots now - Fulham, Swansea, Everton, Liverpool.
