Is Dennis Wise a disruptive influence? Or are the fans making him one?
timnufc22 replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Rightly said, f*** the lot of them. I dont like it because some people might well buy into it. Buy into the tosh coming out of Wise's mouth, and the general 'poor Dennis' attitude of soul-less skysports. -

timnufc22 replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Aye, that was priceless coming from a bloke who gave us several utterly gash signings and is STILL taking £20k a week out of the club himself. Exactly, I just cant believe the slimyness, the total & utter cheek of that horrible man. And skysports are total slimeballs too. Dennis? ... "In view of our conclusion on the Sixth Issue, it follows, as was accepted on behalf of Mr Keegan, that he is entitled to no further damages. However, if we had had to address this issue, we would have decided that the publication of a finding by us that Mr Keegan had resigned because he had been constructively dismissed by the Club and not because he had decided to walk away, would restore his reputation and in evidence he agreed with that proposition." Go on Dennis, keep em coming, get them 25m comments rolling out, keep that smear campaign rolling, dont let your head go down, keep trying. You utter bastard. He contracted himself about stuff again in that interview, no wonder the panel we're confused by these idiots. -
Keegan vs Ashley and Co case settled - KK awarded 2m
timnufc22 replied to Taylor Swift's topic in Football
Brilliant post, spot on imo. -
My point yes he's Kevin Keegan, but any 'crazyness' & sentimentality that comes with that appointment doesnt actually have any bearing on the likelyhood hes potentially the best man out there for the job, and would be able to do well in the job, and take this club forward, which is what we all want.

Keegan vs Ashley and Co case settled - KK awarded 2m
timnufc22 replied to Taylor Swift's topic in Football
Has he said anything yet? I think they'll avoid it tbh. Not yet. Keys said something like "we'll talk about Newcastle a bit later", to which Wise replied "not a problem". Most likely will be generic comments that don't give anything away. I'm expecting Souness to chip in with bullshit about the fans being unrealistic too. It is just simply disgusting they have got Wise on there. Keys joking around "hes not too popular in the NE" hehe, funny isnt it? He's not too popular because he undermined a respected honanourable football man in KK by undermining him, and lying to everyone connected with NUFC - FACT. not opinion, FACT. Yet there they are getting him in to have a nice giggle with him about him 'eee bieng so unpopular naughy boy hehe anyway, chelsea legend....'. While all they focused on is the money that was claimed for Keegan on repuation damaged up until he he is 65(!) when the verdict was given and all these facts and shambolic treatment came out in the public domain, which was the real issue of the verdict, yet they have Graame Sounness sitting there in their studios having got a massive pay cheque for - not bieng stitched up like Keegan - but for doing a shambolic job at Nufc. -
Why would getting KK back at nufc potentially be looked on as crazy? "Theres more than just 1 manager out there" "blinded by sentiment", "it will end in tears", "short-sited". Think about it more though. It is actually short sited to dismiss Keegan as a candidate for the job in my opinion. If it has been proved that KK was forced out the club, then why should the feeling people had for him last year be any different now? It has been proved his position was untenable, and that he was effectivley stitched up. This has been done so by him taking those con men to court to get the truth out. In fact, he had to do it regardless, because those con men were going to sue him for 2m (even though they, as a fact, forced him out themselves). It is utterly irrelevant what price his lawyers have put onto reputation damages as a) Its common high price tactics, the point isnt thinking they would ever get anything near because they obviously (nor KK) didnt, that was calculating a loss in potential future earnings through repuation damage Ashley could have caused until he is - 65! b) Keegan wanted his reputation cleared through evidence and accpted this instead of going for any money, as long the truth came out. Its there on paper. On the football side where it matters - Keegan is a very good manager. He, after a slow start, managed get a very poor Newcastle team playing quality football, resotring confidence. He took the decision when fighting relegation to utalise the biggest strength of the squad in his opinion - the 3 strikers. It was a masterstroke to put Owen in a deeper role as it played perfectley into his style of play at this stage of his career. He's supposedly out of touch with the game according to cynics, yet he still had enough contacts in the game to bring in unknown Seb Bassong for example. Yes, there ARE other managers out there. The thing is - we dont exactly have Guus Hiddink knocking on our door! ANY manager is a risk, its ALWAYS a risk. Obviously you want to minimise that risk, and some cynics might say "not with KK" - well, no, not if the owner is Mike Ashley or someone just as incredibily stupid is the owner. "It will end in tears because he might not do well and tarnish his status" .... But he could very likely actually do very well! And if that was to be the case, wouldlnt that be what this game is ultimately about? And isnt it something worth striving for? And it comes back to that, not only could he do very well as oppose to badly, but the chances are he WOULD do very well, bcause again, HES ACTUALLY A VERY GOOD MANAGER. "Obsessed with legends" ... ok, but again, isnt the status and appreciation someone can work hard for and gain a big side of football, and a big part of what attracts us to the game? Really, when you think about it, thinking about memories of the game? Isnt that romantic aspect something that should not be looked down at? Even more so in the game these days where cheating is more common than ever, more & more souless stadiums bieng rolled out, fans bieng outpriced, superfictial hype more & more constant? The notion of Keegan coming back that 2nd time as manager for unfinished business - potentially lifting a trophy or pushing the club forward, restoring pride & potentially european football - while in the manner he'd no doubt want - that notion was brilliant, special, and would have been uncredibly satisfying. The notion now of him coming back for a 3rd time as manager with fire in his belly, unfinished business more than ever, putting right Ashley total mess, and going on to do well and take the club forward, restoring pride - because he is actually very much capable of doing so sentiment aside - is something that should not be ignored & dismissed. Personally, I'd wouthout a doubt persue it.

I'd like to think this outcome would open the door for any possible return.

that's as bad as saying we should appoint someone because the fans would like it. that shouldn't really come into it. Thats a bit naive. You don't think the overall distain for Sam Allardyce/Graeme Souness was a factor in their tenure at NUFC? i said 'shouldn't' as it does to an extent. i think that is a bit different though, as that is fans responding to what has happened on the pitch, rather than some irrational dislike. The reason behind the dislike doesn't matter that much imo, it's all relevant to how much time it takes for the crowd to turn on a manager. A large portion of fans would be on Keegan's back from day one. Why should they be? I'd like to think it wouldnt be a large portion once people get round to reading all the facts of this outcome, and it all sinks in. He's vindicated in his choice to 'leave'. He wanted to stay to take the club forward, but he wasnt able to. He'd want to do the same if back in that dug-out, and undoubedly would imo if we had a competant owner. I really, really don't care whether you think Keegan is right/wrong/sexy/cool, as it is completely irrelevant to the point I am making. Unless you want to go around Newcastle and individually persuade EVERY Newcastle fan who dislikes Keegan, then he's a poor choice as manager. May as well hire Sam. Im questioning why anyone would be on his back from day 1. I also dont think it would be a poor choice if some of the fans were dubious about him because I think he'd win them over, as long as he's not bieng stitched up behind the scenes of course. You dont agree with me, thats fine & nowt wrong with that.

I honestly believe Keegan as manager would be looking forward; taking the club forward. At a glance, it looks an un-thought, narrow minded opinion. But I genuinley dont have that opnion as narrow minded choice, I totally understand hes not the only good manager out there etc. Theres nothing wrong with people thinking differently, thats fine. But I genuinley, rationally think he's the best man for the job.

Same here. I'd have him back, no doubt - for the good of the club. Its not daft, its not crazy, its actually common sense imo. This is totally right imo.

Just utter utter bastards. Leading a club legend down a garden path to sell 3 year season tickets, its just shambolic, and this lot, try as they might to save their own arses, are not going to (or should not be allowed to) mess up a Legend's repuation. Keegan was right, and is someone who is always welcome back at SJP. -

hows that ? we didn't have the money to provide what he wanted,he walked. why couldn't he cut his cloth like the every other manager has to ? how,-- gratuitous indulging in Keegan bashing, then he returns , we are good,= they are twats. come on you understand this. it doesn't matter who the person is i'll slag them off when they do something to be slagged off for and applaud accordingly when they deserve it. i'll not defend someone to the hilt without evidence especially if i know they have previous. Praise the lord, sense at last. What's Keegan done he should be slagged off for though? Yeah, yeah he should've stayed with a lopsided squad when his pleas were going unheard. - Walked out on Newcastle, had to be persuaded to return - Walked out on Newcastle again - Walked out on Fulham - Walked out on England - Walked out on Manchester City - Walked out on Newcastle again. Regardless of what he has achieved, we can't just ignore the above. Bloody hell, 'we cant just ignore the above'. He was at Man City for about 4yrs? His contract wasnt going to be renewed and things went flat, so club & Keegan both agreed to part company a few months before that. The club wasnt renewing his contract which was running out in a number of months time. Yet you put on 'walked out on Manchester City' to use as something against him. according to him his contract was going to be renewed but they wanted him to sign a longer one than he wanted. he said no so they said they would let him go at the end of his then it was mutually agreed he'd leave as he was a lame duck in that situation. he walked on fulham ? he left to take over the national managers job. that can hardly be described as walking away. Well you can when your trying to use something against him. Its just sad, obviously thers nowt wrong with questioning things like "should he have agreed to come with a DOF?", "maybe he could have fought things out in public", etc, and I understand those question marks against him.

Exactly. What a disgrace I am, how dare I slag Keegan off saying something like that? I think he's refering to the genuine & smug piss-taking of him.
-
Are you actually capable of putting a response together without calling those that disagree with you? I'm grown up, I don't call someone a 'mong' just because they disagree with me. The man is an absolute legend and has achieved more at this football club than some Newcastle managers can only dream of, doesn't mean I'm gonna roll over and hail the 'Messiah' because he abandoned us. He made mistakes, we all do. It's wrong to ignore his mistakes because of what he achieved. Oh, and for the record, I was gutted when Robson left and I haven't jumped on the Ranger band wagon so that blows that theory straight out the water. Nice try. well said. Some of the things said about KK are way over childish in the first place, provoking an arsey repsonse. Exactly, the genuine piss-taking out of him & smugness is cringe-worthy.

I agree, this is from U V on toontastic: Target Sports Defect. Make it known that any true Newcastle supporter should not buy anything from his stores until he sells up. Set up pickets outside the shops (at least at first) to publicise it. At the very least stores in the North East should suffer if support for the club amongst the general population is anything like claimed. Use negative publicity about Sports Defect practices - they're probably no worse than anyone else, but a cheap tat merchant like that is bound to source a lot of it's merchandise from sweat shops, and treat it's staff poorly. If we make sure that Sports Defect are constantly associated with cheap child labour in poor conditions (it doesn't even have to be true), false sale promises, imply his goods are of a really poor quality, etc - over time it will have a negative affect on sales across the country.

Get out of our cluuub Fat greedy bastard, get out of our club Fuck off Ashley! Fuck off Ashley! Fuck off Derek! Fuck off Derek! Basically.

His interviews after Arsenal home (1-1), after Boro away (3-1) Spurs at home (6-1), Southampton at home (5-0), Chelsea FA Cup semi final, the game summed up the spirit he had created in the side even though we unluckly lost. Arsenal away (3-1) & Feyenoord away.
