That's me not buying a new subscription for EPL football next season.

Here he goes again: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4936628/Alan-Pardew-fears-big-name-stars-could-leave-Newcastle.html Selling Ben Arfa and Cabaye. Fucking c*unt.

This is interesting considering his Norwich side ended on 44 points. Three points above Newcastle. I dare to say that most people here think we have a better squad than Norwich....
-
Just me, or does Chris Hughton come across as a more likeable manager? Feels like the squad was more positive, united and had a greater will at achieving things under his management...

Just so sad Alan Pardew is going to be Newcastle United's manager next season, and even sadder Mike Ashley is the owner.

Toonacy! Pardew: Fans ask too much ALAN PARDEW last night told the Toon Army: You expect too much! The Newcastle boss has been on a rollercoaster of emotions with the fans. Last season, he was hailed by the Geordies for finishing fifth and qualifying for the Europa League. But he has been the target of their criticism this year with the Magpies’ fortunes swinging wildly as they flirted with relegation. Pards insisted: “I do think sometimes it can get very sensational at this football club. When we’ve done well, we’ve done really very well. “But when it goes the other way, the whole city goes that way. “I spoke to Sam Allardyce about it. He thought, having been the manager here, that was a problem for this club.Perhaps we could have more consistency about how we deal with wins and losses.” Pardew has been given the backing of owner Mike Ashley, despite this season’s struggles as they head into today’s final game of the season against Arsenal. And with Alex Ferguson retiring and Everton’s David Moyes moving to Old Trafford to replace him, Pards will become the third-longest serving boss in the Premier League this summer. The Londoner has been in charge for only 2½ years but last September signed a mega eight-year deal. He added: “I hope I am here for the long haul. “I love the people in this area. I love the way we have been accepted, not just at the club, but in the area. “Someone told me that I’ll be the third-longest serving manager, which is hard to believe, but that’s how difficult this job is. “Sometimes you need to have the faith, not just of the owner, but supporters to give you the benefit of the doubt when you’ve made mistakes and that you can put them right. “I think I have proved since I’ve been here that I can reach the heights and I’ve got to reach them again. “I look at the team and genuinely think this has been a season when we have never really produced a period like last year. I’ve had to work really hard and get to the depth of my character, so I could get the right message over. “We have to make sure that next year we get some continuity in the team and get some rhythm back. That’s what we’ve missed this season. “You are never going to get that in the relegation zone. We will be looking for that next season. “I want to do better than I did even last season.” Pardew, 51, sparked a storm last week by joking he did not care if Newcastle lost 4-0 to Arsenal. But he insists he is determined to end the season on a high — and leave Arsene Wenger’s proud Champions League record in tatters. Pardew, who has had several spats with his Gunners counterpart when he was manager at West Ham, said: “My teams have done well against Arsenal over the years. And this club, let alone myself, has a good record against them as well. “Arsenal know this is a tough place to come and the circumstances for them could be better. The fact we are over the line also makes it more difficult for them.” Toon owner Ashley has added extra spice to today’s St James’ Park clash by offering a £1million bonus to club staff if Newcastle beat Arsenal. Reports last night suggested Ashley will hand the windfall to non-playing and coaching staff. The Magpies could yet finish as high as 10th if they beat the Gunners, although even that would fall short of expectations after last season’s heroics. link: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4933256/Alan-Pardew-Fans-expect-too-much-of-Newcastle.html

Damn! There went our big-name signing of the summer. Bring on 2nd of September.
-
Of course. Bye Pardew. Survival does not change my view in any way.

Please explain how you achieved this ? I've been trying to become a more sane, rational person where NUFC is concerned for decades, without any success whatsoever Try thinking of Ashley and Llambias trousering your hard-earned dosh...and Pardew being paid with it... If those really were the criteria for ending an obsession wouldn't it have been possible acheive that decades ago and long before those three were ever heard of ? haha, you guys are insane Well, the 'solution' is rather obvious, it's not necessarily a simple step nor is it reversible in any way... get a baby! I do watch some Champions League matches on cable channels from time to time, though watch is a very strong word to use... I get glimpses

I feel sorry for the city of Newcastle, and their loyal fans, because I know that Newcastle United F.C. means a lot to them. I also feel it's too harsh too say Newcastle deserve to go down. Any loyal fan, no matter how upset you might be, would not want their team relegated. Last time Newcastle got relegated, they did not lose a lot of the squad, and therefore was able to secure promotion the following season. IF history repeats itself, chances are Newcastle's going to stay in the Championship for a while. Unlike last time, most first team players would want out, and a lot of them are easy targets for any EPL side that can provide Champ. league or EL. If anything, I was very surprised when Mike Ashley replaced Chris Hughton with Alan Pardew, claiming it to be a step forward. And with a lot of luck, season 11/12 was quite a step forward. However failing to take advantage of the huge success in 11/12 has proven to be nothing short of disastrous. This is just yet another Mike Ashley gamble about to fail miserably. As a former obsessed supporter, I decided to withdraw to a more passive supporter at the end of last season, as I never had any confidence Mike Ashley, and the little hope I had of ever becoming a great side, has proven to be further away than I could ever imagine. I guess when you fill your squad with a lot of talent players, with a great potensial, and you sell them lies, at the end of the day your gonna get one hell of a dissatisfied group of players. Most of them were recognized as good footballers before they joined Newcastle, and those who were unknown, got themselves a name last season. They know they'll get sold one way or the other, why should they help Newcastle survive, if all they get is yet another season with empty promises, lies and risky gambling from Ashley? After all, both Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias has said that every player has his price. Newcastle is a selling club, and the shopping window was last season. The players have already proven their abilities. So to answer the thread's question; Mike Ashley deserves anything thrown at him. It's essentially his club/company, so he's free to do whatever he wants. And that's what he does. Unfortunately it touches the heart, and feelings, of many many people.....

It would stop Pardew from being in charge of training, starting eleven, subs, tactics, everything. Sacking him now is a must. while leaving us completely rudderless in a relegation battle with 3 games to go with no replacement likely for those 3 games. And you know that...?
-
The worst thing about that article (apart from being shit) is the scary thought of Pardew actually using those words as a excuse in interview. "Well, you know, we lack big men. Our two jumpers are being marked out of the game, you know. So yeah.."
-
More a repetition of what's been a problem for, God knows, how many years. It's depressing to read, really. If you want to be a force in the top 5 EPL you need to be rich rich rich!, based in London.. or, as Newcastle were last year, so fucking lucky that it's ridiculous....
-
Stability --> Newcastle --- > 16th place. No stability --> Chelsea ---> 4th place.
-
How can you be so sure, have you seen us play lately?
-
I get your point to some extent. However, I do feel that we should've kept him. He might had something to add to the teams' togetherness and team spirit. And in that sense, he'd be worth having. Also.. may I just kindly remind you we only have Cissè. We cry out for at least on more proven striker.
-
Those of you who actually defend Pardew at this point are just so fucking deluded. You must have forgotten what attacking football is, and even more worryingly, where the fuck's your ambitions? Fighting relegation... pffff... Of course we can get a better manager than Pardew. Both Avram Grant and Roberto Di Matteo would offer a lot more, and they are available right now! The latter would actually be a realistic target.
-
He'd be more suited to this team/manager than most would dare to admit tbh. We should have kept Nolan tbh. I would take him back now. We need someone like him. He was a good leader for our team, and a scored a fair few goals as well.
-
This loss hurts in similar fashion to the match against Villa where we got relegated a few years back.
-
Bring back Keegan ..Make sure to bring in some filthy-rich Arabs as well. I must admit I'm amazed at how 'well' Mike Ashley takes care of his 'beloved' Newcastle. Watch interview in signature, please!

I'll briefly elaborate why I've called for his head all season. We kept almost the same squad from 11/12 to 12/13, and judging by the wonderful performance in 11/12, there was absolutely no reason why we shouldn't expect the same this season. Now, some will argue we didn't strengthen the squad during the summer - and they are right. We should have done the January shopping in the summer. Losing Ba is something I find hard to swallow, and we should have done everything in our power to keep him. Regardless of that, you should expect any good manager to be able to work with what he got. After the first few games, one could see signs of him losing what people like to call "the dressing room", which is actually the same as not being able to influence the players in a mentally positive way. Any replacement that can forge the team spirit back on track, will be able to do a heck lot better with this group of players.

Have said it all season. See you in Championship next season... and if Newcastle somehow survive this season, watch the mass-exodus in the summer.

Isn't he, Mike and Dekka like best friends? You are probably right. On a side note; we haven't lost since 2000/01.
