  1. The more I think about it, the two Delap and Mbuemo really were perfect for us, at the price points mentioned. Mbuemo possibly too expensive wages wise but Delap at 30m was an amazing deal. any other relegated release clauses?
  2. We keep saying Joao Pedro for CF but he’s not an out and out striker. Back up is ok but if Isak is out we may become toothless upfront again why has buying enough players to fit your basic objectives become so damn difficult
  3. I have a feeling we're going to sign an 80M player this window. Don't ask me why. Just a feeling.
  4. And a player from 11 years ago is still our captain
  5. If we get an Elanga or Semenyo, I’d also want a young prospect like Roony Bardjhi so we have options. Elanga and Semenyo are speedy direct options. We do need more guile and flair up top. A door opener like Souness used to say.
  6. Brighton are annoying. Literally any wonderkid and they’re all over him. used to be my go-to strategy on FM tbf but it’s annoying in real life leave some for the rest of us
  7. With Sancho I do think there’s a player there. He’s a confidence player but the two clubs he’s played at are absolutely toxic, Man U say no more but when Chelsea with their million players can’t be the best when you’re trying to find your way back to full form and fitness. That spell he had on loan at Dortmund where he played CL final he was starting to show flashes of the old Sancho towards the end. I do think if anyone could fix him so to speak it would be Howe.
  8. I’d actually rather get Maignan for 17m or whatever it is. buy potential later when we have spare cash. maignan is actually a purple and would be as big an upgrade as pope was for dubravka
  9. It was either Trafford Garcia or Chevalier if we want to lock off the position for 5 years minimum. Right age and experience. Garcia has gone and in a way perhaps he would have gone to one of the big teams eventually so good it’s happened now. But Trafford in theory lived in the North, was in Man City, Burnley, Bolton plus knows many of the u-21 guys like Tino Hall and Gordon so can see him being an excellent fit. Get him now even at 30m and you won’t have to worry about it again. It’s a Hall Tino type of purchase neither of which were high priorities at the time but makes a lot of sense in hindsight.
  10. Howe will sort him out, etc
  11. Let me rephrase... Decent Belgian... this century? (The only one I could think of was Sels!)
  12. I'd take Felix here. Could be the 10 behind Isak. Would probably be cheaper than Joao Pedro too
  13. We did try and sign Juma Bah in January but Man City beat us to the punch Who else do they have?
  14. Feel it's been a while since we've had a good German in the team, same with Portugal. Also not had a Turk since Emre. And have we ever had a decent Belgian? We tend to sign in groups/patterns, Coloccini and Gutierrez Argentinians, Cisse and Ba Senegal, the french lot under Pardew, Wijnaldum, De Jong and Williams, Spaniards under Benitez, now Bruno and Joelinton. As nothing is happening and the window is closed - which countries would you like to sign someone from?
  15. Not to start this off after last summer... but Chiesa may be up for sale by Liverpool. He never played there. I'd definitely take him as decent backup across the front line. If we have new RW, Chiesa, Murphy, Gordon and Barnes - that's an excellent set of wingers with a bit of everything.
  16. That's a crazy buy. A worldie, the equivalent of buying Musiala, Bellingham etc not even in their prime yet. What's higher than a purple chip?
  17. Mitchell may be leaving on a free, Targett is more than a good enough replacement for them

    England

Carsley actually was a good fit, and all the games bar one England dominated and played well He knew the players and apart from that crazy experimental game, most of his decisions made sense (even Angel Gomes played well in his games)
  19. Hated him for what he did to Ben Arfa but that 2012 season was the best since SBR for me until the takeover. Bruce is levels and levels above him in terms of hatred, Carver not too far behind, as is Souness and Dalglish.
  20. Scouts would be getting paid 'normal' wages - 50-60k a year. It's mostly part time so probably even less than that
  21. If he's the genius that took Anderson and foisted Vlad on us for £20m - I say sign him up! He owes us big time.
  22. Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen of Barca are both currently available for sale. Good for the RCB?
  23. It’s coz we’ve mostly got British players who rarely go over there. Theyve been interested in Miggy and Dubravka, Trippier also as he has the England credentials We don’t have many high level players worth much that they’d sign. If Barnes Willock and Murphy were sexier names or from more exotic backgrounds they might have had some interest
  24. That is cheap for three first teamers in this day and age. Especially considering Liverpool are bidding over 100m for Wirtz. Man City recently are operating in that 30-50m price bracket primarily for potential gems, rather than finished articles. With the odd big money move where needed. Probably a shift in strategy since the flop with Grealish.
