I resent him having pens this season tbh - even though he's good at them. Woltemade with 15 goals this season we'd all say he was a hit and a very strong foundation to build on for next year. Isak only got 10 in his first year with us (albeit injured for a few months)

I'd only consider signing Szobsozlai from them. For how much they've spent, I actually don't really rate their team. Wouldn't take Gravenberch or Mac Callister over Bruno and Tonali I don't rate Gordon but I rate Gakpo even less Salah, Allisson and Van Dijk were obviously world class but declining and on the way out Ekitike and Isak are obviously decent so that's more of no dickhead rule thing Forgot about Wirtz - would probably suit us less than Woltemade

I don’t mind a few of their cast offs for Gordon tbh. A good way of getting three or four good quality players in one go, without a fee. Yes we’d lose an expensive asset but we’d gain an injection of quality throughout the spine

Before that we were linked heavily with Dougie Freedman who did well for CP, Olise, Eze, Wharton etc. Wilson has done very well for Forest, Anderson, Murillo, CHO, Milenkovic etc. There's only a handful of really big names of sporting directors and we've had two of the biggest ones. Wilson is a bit more low profile but the big names didn't really work out in any case. He's had summers where's he recruited 10-12 players and cleared out the decks so absolutely has the right experience for what we need this summer

I also disagree that PIF have hired bad custodians - Ashworth and Mitchell were genuinely considered best in class and we were excited about their appointments. Eales too had very good pedigree and it made a lot of sense given what he had done in Atlanta. Hopkinson has got a great CV also.
