I really miss our 97/99 home kit. Puma are not doing a good job. Adidas made some awesome shirts.

Most teams only spend in january coz somethings needs to be addressed. I find it hard to be critical about most things since summer. Huge changes was needed and tbf most of them were dealt with. The squad was in a worse state than most of us expected. But good players and setup were brought in. Most teams do not spend that big money in january unless something isn´t right...you try to make it right before the season starts which is ideal. Not many had McClaren as their 1st choice but not many of us expected us to be in this situation after the first game imo. Do we survive relegation than i do have strong belief/hope that next season could be the best for us in a long time (even with McClaren). fingers crossed.

I can help with this one. Perez will be off to Spurs in the summer, Aarons will be loaned out and Thauvin will be off this window. Thank you Sir, you just ruined my day! Perez i would very much like to keep. Aarons loan move makes sense (did he sign a new contract?) Thauvin - so be it...but feel sad that he like Cabella and Arfa didn´t work out. All the type of players i like to watch...but they not suited for relegation fights...especially not in their first season here.

In terms of proper quality and assuming Remy is the striker then we'd have four really good options to cover two (maybe three) positions. Mitro, Townsend, Remy and Perez. Remy and Perez can both play as striker or left inside forward with Mitro and Townsend playing striker and left winger. Gives us a lot of options and different ways we can set up plus decent depth (for a change). agree. its nice with options. but you did not mention Aarons, thauvin and De Jong. Getting the squad balance right (hopefully after survival) is a summer job! Lots of work to be done (players to sell)

the motivation is going to the euros, i guess

my only worry is how we manage to give perez, thauvin and Aarons gametime too.... If another striker comes im perez is 3 choice LW and forward? Thats wrong. Hope we manage to survive relegation...imagine this squad being relegated...all the money spent Well hope we stay up and can bring proper balance to the squad in the summer.
-
Isn´t Perez the striker we are looking for if we bought a LW or used Aarons or Thauvin?

Think i put my thoughts here! Shelvey: Sweet baby Jesus - what a blessing! He made it so clear what we have been missing all season! His 2 passes leading to our goals is what we have missed...gives us so many options going forward. Superb debut! Saivet: difficult to say much...he looked ok and had some nice tackles and passes... Blob: Well...never thought he would perform on this level consistently...Think the guys like him and trusts him. Colo: When he performs like in the last two matches...he makes me very proud! I so much wants him to do well. He makes me hard at times Gini: He could play for any team in the world...just hope we will hold on to him for 1 more season...were we perform well and pushes for top 6-7! Mbemba: Cost another goal...love him still. Mitrovic: Looks funny at times. But you do not get a much better target man...when he starts scoring also he will be a top striker. Love everything about him! Perez: well placed goal. Class! Colback: did ok when moved to LB. Dummett did well too. A position we should upgrade next season!
-
i really like him. its not like its his fault getting injured. But maybe he has to go (in the summer) if we wants to bring balance to the squad. I very much like Perez and Gini and i prefer them both in the same role as no. 10 and not on the wing. Think Gini will leave us if he has to play LW.
-
someone in CM position needs to go and i sure it has been the plan for some time. He have too many options there...and many of them are easy to upgrade. Hope Tiote and Gouffran are leaving this window.

What the f*** are you talking about man? It's not like he made a Darlow style clanger to gift them the game - he had a ridiculously harsh penalty decision given against him that 9/10 referees would have correctly turned down and aye he made a suspect pass for the 2nd, but were the rest of the team busting a gut to get back? Could other defenders have done better? He played quite well and made an error there but to say 'he alone' cost us 2 goals is nothing short of utter bollocks. he had a poor match - no point in denying it! That penalty decision was unfortunately 100% correct! he lost his man and was lost completely. 2nd goal he made a horror pass in a critical position well...right there you have it! As i said...quality player, still young and learning at this level though...nothing wrong with that! 1st point I completely disagree with, the 2nd I agree he made a poor pass but the goal still could have been prevented if the team didn't just give up with running back. 2nd goal. you can´t make a pass like that when you´re not under more pressure. PL teams punish you for mistakes like that. the running back could be better....maybe colo could have done better? But its still an error that cost a goal...had Colback done it he would probably be dead by now! The handball - maybe he didn´t do it on purpose - but he took away a free header... I will give you that apart from those incidents he did ok. I "like" when he carries the ball forward - only problem is he always ends up losing it

fantastic player - really like him. But against Man U he alone cost us 2 goals. Still young

Saivet Shelvey Gini Sissoko Thauvin/Aarons/Perez Mitrovic
-
Tiote I would say is first out the door. hope so
-
Yeah same here. what i was hoping....but can they (saivet and shelvey) work hard enough defensively?
-
2 CMs - thats nice. Now we need: LB, CB and a proven striker! Could saivet and Jonjo play central together...or do they both like to go forward?
-
Start him on LW and move Gini central
-
DC LC 2 X MC striker We are in the relegation zone FFS. If we wait - we go down! New energy and competition needed! Sell some of our deadwood too!
-
RIP Pavel - way to early. You will be missed

If you assume that you need 38 points to be safe (which is usually the case), then we are only 2 points away from being half way there with 2 games to go before the half way stage. A win yesterday would have put us there, but we have two fixture where we have a god chance of getting those points and possibly more from before we hit that stage. We need another 6-7 wins and 4-5 draws to be safe, we can certainly achieve it. We just need to improve every game. This season is all about building a strong squad and develop our style. Be safe asap so that McClaren has more freedom to start playing the way he really wants. Sad season this...but it could make us stronger for next season. Need to sell and buy a lot over the next 2 windows!
-
as if McClaren can´t see he is among our best players. W*nkers! De Jong took his chance and we won 2 difficult matches. He deserved to start...and more important - he needs to play to gain former level. Perez is my favorite...but it also makes sense to start De Jong yesterday. He offers something different when we have to break teams down at home. Perez coming on from the bench with pace when the game is opening up (30 min left) is not a bad move. Bringing De Jong on with 30 minutes left would not make sense imo. Ok tactics yesterday.
