If Trippier is out then back 5 is the only option.

Yeah, let’s drop a major decision that will divide the fan base just 48 hours before our biggest league game of the season.

Imagine only being able to name one centre back who is not shit from a quarter of a century, and that centre back only having played 33 games on loan for the club Also, Phil Bardsley in the team

Would sign Thiaw just to put his name in the Mr Plow song.

Palace v Forest and Bournemouth v Villa are huge games. If they could both avoid away wins then we could go into Sunday knowing a win would all but guarantee us top 5.

Wonder whether the formation we used for the Arsenal home semi final is an option, playing 3 CBs with one of them specifically to man mark Palmer.
-
So did Gordon the game before we signed him.

Snap your hand off for 5th still, but remarkable that 2nd is in our own hands now.

Looks like an AI “draw me the shittest tifo imaginable” -
My daughter was away mascot for Norwich at Boro on Saturday. After kick off they walked us through the concourse to the away end and two middle aged blokes started genuinely booing her

Pre-season (2025/26) - NUFC to play Atletico Madrid in Sela Cup

Spurs plus a local side in South Korea. Celtic at their place. Sela Cup weekend. -
Are you ok? You seem a bit angry. I said he’s a good player playing in a poor league. I don’t think that’s a particularly controversial view. I do watch the odd Serie A game, but to be honest I’m a grown man with a family and a job, so it’s not really top of my priority list.
-
He’s a good player, no doubt. But he’s going to win the league with Billy Gilmour and Philip Billing as team mates. That’s the standard of that league. All the best.

Trafford Huijsen Veiga (loan) Mbeumo Delap

I think we were after him and Tosin as solid PL signings to get us through a couple of years, so any funds we did have available could have been used on a RW, hence the bid for Olise last summer. When Olise went to Bayern and Tosin went to Chelsea, I think that’s why we switched attention to Guehi and brought in Osula.

If there was a trawl through the Chelsea Carabao Cup game thread I’m sure there would be a lot of people suggesting he replaced Burn in the starting XI. He had a couple of bad games for us but he never really had a proper run in the side. I have no doubt Howe would have made him into a good signing for us, but we couldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth when Juve came in with that sort of money for him.

Fee is amortised over the length of a players contract, up to a maximum of 5 years. So say he signed for £50m and signed a 5 year contract, then you would amortise £10m a year (ie the PSR ‘hit’). If we paid the cash in instalments of £16.67m a year for 3 years, the PSR hit is still £10m per year for 5 years.
-
No, but it would help cash flow.
-
Farke back to Norwich wouldn’t surprise me either.

Would people take going into the last game vs Everton needing a win to guarantee CL?

When you look at Villa’s squad compared to ours it’s no surprise they were able to maintain league form alongside the long champions league run. We’ve got a great team, not a great squad. Here’s hoping it doesn’t require a purple going in order to fund it.
