Sometimes it feels inevitable that we end up with a closed-environment super-club league off on their own. It shouldn’t be that way, and it doesn’t have to, but it feels like they get coddled so much that everyone else is penalized into also-ran status.

Yeah, if you look up the company name on Companies House, go to its records, and look at the directors tab, you get information about him. When you click on his name it shows other companies he’s affiliated with.

You’d think if you were going to pull something like that you’d make yourself somewhat difficult to find, but nope — face plastered all over his various companies’ websites.

Are we allowed to register rabbits in the squad?

I wouldn’t say no to an envelope of cash in the back of the TV after all this.

If the club were to come out and say hey, supporters, we know teams need fresh blood, but we have a unified belief that we’re in a really good position and it’s far better in this day in age to make the right signings vs just any signings and we truly thought we were after the right ones — so don’t take this as stagnation, take it as a step in a well considered plan forward that we all agree with. We’ll, I’m not sure I’d 100% buy it, but you could at least say okay, well, let’s go ahead and prove it on the pitch. Not sure we’ll get anything like that, though.

What’s the appropriate timeline for getting a player we want? I mean, there’s no guarantee next summer, either. Do we W A I T ?

If we end up not doing any further business, it’s going to be interesting to see how the club handles the damage control messaging without Staveley. Hard to think what a satisfactory message would be.
