There's little to complain about at the moment, which makes the relentless anti Pardew bile more wearisome than ever to read. 30 points is an excellent return, considering how little investment was made in the summer. Yeah he's got his flaws but overall he's doing a very decent job. Really looking forward to the next game.

The Managerial Merry Go Roundâ„¢ - Frank in at Tottenham

And leave us with...Kinnear? -
Know what you mean but their team's a lot better than ours mate. Suarez is like a two goal head start at the moment.
-
We have 4 players in our squad who can score a goal. Man City and Liverpool have goals all over.
-
There's only Man U outside the top 5 who've scored more than us. Happy Face would be proud. That stat is down to Remy. If he's off his game...we don't have many different players who can score. Gouffran and Cabaye are good for a few. Shola and Cisse may never score again. We don't have any defenders who can chip in. It's a problem. Everton had four different scorers today. It's not like Remy has been scoring screamers like Cisse. A lot of them have been finishes from chances created for him. And what's the difference between Remy & Gouffran getting the bulk of ours and say, Sturridge & Suarez, Giroud & Ramsey and Rooney & RvP at other clubs? Fair enough if you're happy with our striking options. I'm not. Gouffran is doing his best but if Remy stops scoring we don't have the player or players to take up the slack. Everton knocked in 4 today and Lukaku wasnt among them. The teams you've listed carry far more goal threat throughout the team too. Gerard. Ozil. Mertesacker is a goal machine compared to our lot.

Here's a problem. There isn't many goals in this team. And that's not all Pardew's fault like.

It was a Southampton side with half a dozen first team players out. We we're almost full strength coming off the back of our first win at Old Trafford in 41 years. Expectations really have been lowered under Pardew and Ashley Lalana (sp?), Rodriguez and co have caused plenty of problems for teams a lot better than us. We were done on the counter after a terrible mistake. It happens. Can't win em all. Last season we'd have buckled and lost. Doesn't detract from what I wrote. As Rodriguez is a decent player but no world beater, and Lallana only played for 45 minutes. If our manager had a more positive attitude and told his players to go out and put them to the sword instead of telling them to drop deeper and tighten up we would have put them to the sword. It's becoming pathetic seeing our lads trudge out for the second half looking scared to express themselves. Ah c'mon. Scared to express themselves? I don't doubt we've stupidly gone defensive in past games, but I didn't see that today. We got done for piling too many forward if anything. When Remy's off colour there's not enough goals in this team to put anyone to the sword, regardless of the manager's attitude.

Don't get people being angry. It was a good game to watch and on another day we would have nicked it. Southampton are a good side with plenty of players we'd like in our squad. The best and worst of Ben Arfa. Cisse so much worse an option than Shola at this point its not even funny. Perma offside. Is he thick or what?

Poor for long stretches but the "no strikers and they scored 3 argh its so embarrassing" thing doesn't really wash. First goal: utter howler from Krul. Second goal: miracle of an OG Third goal: howler from Krul. Guy who scored shouldn't be on the pitch. Webb gave us absolutely nothing. We've had similar levels of performance in other games and come away with points. By far my biggest gripe is how they absolutely packed it in after the second goal. Shameful.

Sahko looking no great shakes on his debut, which is nice.

McCarthy aint no anchor man. He'd be the "creative" one in Ireland's central midfield. Come to think of it we're probably less creative than the Ireland team at the moment, so he'd be a step up.

Newcastle United XI 0-1 Arsenal - 19/5/13 Post Match reaction from p. 29

I know its just one of many things but Tiote's passing man. I just. Christ. How is he this bad? -
I'd stick with Pardew over Mclaren. Can't believe he'd even be considered on here.
-
Just a thought. We put so much stock in managers. Most of us blame Pardew (understandably) for our terrible season. But with these Chelsea players it doesn't seem to matter who manages them. They're always likely to win a cup. Top players play well when it matters. Even under Avram Grant they were a whisker away.

Debuchy looks very ropey defensively. Simpson would get slaughtered for doing that. -
QPR vs Newcastle Utd - 12/05/13 @ 3pm (No TV) - a win confirms safety

QPR at home, Stoke, Fulham, Metalist etc. They were all results we desperately needed. Not many "performances" I'll grant you. -
Don't understand the jealousy. I wouldn't begrudge them the cup, they deserve it. Just because we cant win a cup doesnt mean no other unfancied team should. This is what makes football great. Now lets just do our job and win a bloody game.
-
Not a dig at Cisse per se, but it must be so great to have a striker who can make and take his own chances a la Benteke and Suarez.
-
Jesus Christ. Poor lad. Could be finished as a pro now?

This place is so negative. I was encouraged by the display in Benfica and reckon we'll get the win we need today. 8 mojitos last night and no hangover, today will be a good day. 2-1. -
Doesn't mean a lot. Plenty of average players have won at Old Trafford over the years. What are Anita's outstanding attributes?
