This Spanish cup game in Saudi Arabia represents everything that is wrong with modern football. Going all the way to Saudi to play a domestic game so most people in the stadium can sit and film it with a phone in front of their face. Rancid scenes.

Newcastle United 4-3 Leeds United (07/02/26) | post-match from pg. 75

The 1996 one is the worst game of football I've ever watched in my life and I've watched plenty of depressing games of football in my life. All of my hopes, dreams and expectations being flushed down the shitter by Stan fucking Collymore. I've never been properly chinned. Because I'm a lover not a fighter. But I imagine if I ever did get properly chinned, the pain I would feel would be exactly the same when we lost that game at Anfield. -
I had a season ticket in the East Stand around 2005/6ish as I'd just moved back from abroad and it was all I could get at the time. It was very quiet back then, apart from the football tactics cyborg directly behind me who'd been sent back from the future to educate the elite football managers of the past about where they were going wrong. He'd just bark out tactical nonsense non-stop for 90 mins. He always knew best and he never, ever, ever got it wrong. He was an expert at guiding both NUFC and the away team. I lasted that one season, then moved. He's probably still there, 20 years later, blathering away to the person next to him expecting them to be in awe of his outstanding ability to outsmart any elite manager in the game.

Wot no 1996 v Liverpool (a) or 1997 v Liverpool (a) ? -
You need to get yourself in a toilet cubicle and hoover a big slug of low grade bugle just before kick off, then another at half time and you'll be able to keep up
-
If you read it on here it’s almost certainly fabricated nonsense made up by a middle to old aged man who doesn’t have very many friends in the real world and struggles to maintain a stiffy

All of this is what the club should do. And I've got no idea why they won't. Only downside is some complaining from season ticket holders who won't want to move for the greater good and probably some pushback from the polis as they like having the away fans contained in L7, even though PL rules says away fans must be near the pitch and we're one of two clubs breaking those rules https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cg7vn57x7neo But I say fuck the whinging season tickets and as NWA once said, Fuk Da Polis.

Depends where you are on the pitch and that's based on me having sat in the front rows of Milburn, Leazers and Gallowgate recently. Gallowgate you get the noise from the corner, but not very much from away end. Leazers with a loud away end means you'd hear more of them than the home support. Milburn near dug outs was quiet. You're not getting much noise carrying from either the corner or away end. And the Milburn is generally quiet because of all the posh seats so very little noise coming down from the stand.

Lewis Miley: signs six-year contract extension (Official)
bobbydazzla replied to Ronson333's topic in Football
I was right next to the corner flag when Miley did that and I was up out my chair celebrating it like a goal and gave it a proper "GWARN YOUNG LEWIS SERN" which he would have definitely heard -
Aye, GWC is a another spot I regularly frequent and the difference between what you can hear from away fans there compared to in the Leazers is like being at two different stadiums. The acoustics in SJP are shite because of the mismatched stand heights. A wall of sound from 2-3,000 singers can't come out of L7 Leazers, carry the length of the pitch and then dip down under the Gallowgate roof, that's the nuts and bolts of it. Even the front of the Gallowgate gets a much reduced volume level compared to what's actually being projected from the away end because they're about a billion metres higher up and the sound floats off on the breeze.
-
I'm often in the corner so have often had the same opinion as you and almost always leave a game thinking the away fans have been quiet. It's just that the sound doesn't really carry from L7 to most of the Gallowgate and especially into the corner, so even if the away end is singing all game you only hear them if they're really, really loud.

Why has DJ Onedek suddenly decided Freed From Desire is the ultimate post match anthem ? It's fucking shite, it has no relevance to winning a match, or a player, or NUFC or even the city of Newcastle. It's just a dogshit 90's cheesehouse tune. My love has got no money, he's got his strong beliefs Want more and more, people just want more and more Freedom and love, what he's looking for Freed from desire, mind and senses purified “Freed From Desire” was inspired by the disparities between rich and poor Gala saw in New York and the Senegalese dance community she found in Harlem WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS DAFT CUNT ONEDEK PLAYING AT.
-
Leeds were really loud for the vast majority of the game. Their entire end in full voice, mainly singing the old traditional Leeds songs at the correct BPM. You just can't hear it in the corner. But in the Leazers it was loud and clear all game.

It's like when you're 17, you're fumbling around in some lasses undies in a cupboard at a house party, you've made your debut, you're getting some action, you've done well, but you've not done owt spectacular either. Then you get to 19. You've progressed from fumbling in cupboards to booking Premier Inn rooms and taking lasses back for a proper night of pleasure. You've got your confidence, you know that you've got the skills, but you're not a show off. You're a lot more expressive and you're starting to command the bedroom. You're willing to be more experimental. You've probably experienced a squirter. And the lasses can't get enough of it. You've even been confident enough to take on a recently divorced 38 year old scorcher. So I've been told by people I know who have done these things. -
I love Keegan, absolutely love him and I know how important him coming in and taking us on that wild ride was. I was a teen at the time and had just started going to matches so it was my baptism into this mad club. But when it came to the crunch, he bottled it. Blew what should have been an unassailable league winning position and he got outsmarted by Fergie. Largely because of Keegan’s heart on sleeve personality. Keegan was responsible for some of the highest highs and also the most protracted crushing low in my time following NUFC. So I’m putting Howe marginally above Keegan. But it’s neck and neck. Howe also came in when we were doomed, brought good times back, turned it around in a sustainable way and actually won us a proper trophy. Sir Bobby was good and had so much passion for club. But I never felt he had the steel to take on Fergie or Wenger. He was just too nice and old compared to them. I was emotionally disengaged from NUFC during Rafa so don’t have strong opinions. He’s better than most others. And I absolutely despise Bruce and Souness with every fibre of my being. The rest are all either mediocre nice guys, arseholes (Pardew) or bad (Gullit, Dalglish, McClaren) and I can’t be arsed to list all of their names.
-
I’m not here to whinge for once, but I do have an observation. I was in Leazes East Corner and there was a bit of singing and noise during most of the game and it obviously went akka at the end, but what really made me feel like I was at a football match was the constant full throated traditional songs from the Leeds end for most of the game. There was no periods of silence. Which is a weird thing to be saying because normally hearing the away fans all game would be grim. But given how often I’ve sat amongst silence this season, it meant it was actually better than that. Probably helped that I don’t have much animosity towards Leeds. Hearing makems, scousers, Man Utd singing that loudly all game would be depressing.
