    Loïc Remy

I'm going to be a bit brash and say anyone who think's Remy is better than Henry is an idiot.
  2. this always cracked me up. http://footballcommentblog.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/brown_phil_jumper.jpg?w=300&h=167 http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/6673/philbrownjumper.jpg

    Sunderland

We all know they're waiting until just before the derby to announce the new manager hoping it gives them a boost.

    Loïc Remy

not sure you'll ever be teaming with Remy unfortunately Mehdi.

    Loïc Remy

Admittedly I didn't see all QPR's games last season but I think he looks far better for us so far in his all round play and build up. When I saw him for QPR I thought he looked little more than a quality finisher but so far for us he looks a well rounded footballer who can play in a number of attacking positions.
  6. Chelsea bring on two £30m+ players to beat Norwich.

    Papiss Cissé

Really love Gouffran. Had a great start to this season, our most consistent performer so far and probably our fastest player which adds a lot to the team

    Loïc Remy

Was already celebrating as soon as he hit that 2nd. Very Henry like just not as fast as Henry.

    Sunderland

All we had to do last season was beat them at home to near enough guarantee their relegation and steer us clear of danger but we couldn't manage that

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Wonder if it's worth a try having the team set up like it was yesterday but then simply try Ben Arfa in for Cisse. Have no defensive priorities for him (although obviously he needs to close down centre backs on the ball) and if he picked it up in some of the positions Cisse does then he could turn and go on a run. With Cisse in the form he is in I don't think it's the worst idea.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Just noticed he only came on at 86th minute and Jonas came on at 71 hope it was just to send a message to harem he's not undroppable because don't want to see that become a regular thing

    Hatem Ben Arfa

He any good when he came on for those like me who missed the game?

    Alan Pardew

Big game for the cunt today. If he does drop Ben Arfa then I think he will have effectively sealed his own coffin.

Pardew seems to have this thing though where he must change the whole team and formation after a loss. It's no surprise if he does, he famously did it after the 4:0 wigan, he didnit most recently after hull and probably again ror Cardiff,.
  15. Could be like that awful away game against Norwich last year where Pardew was just happy to keep a clean sheet, whereas all he needed to do was go for it a bit more and we would have won comfortably. Problem is we all know Bellamy is likely to play his best game of the season against us, plus can see Campbell scoring too.
  16. Was our left back in the liverpool horror show remember so lets not assume he'd make a huge difference.

    Alan Pardew

He forgot that Mirallas and Coleman are pretty good going forward too I take it
  18. The biggest problem with Taylor as it has been for the last 3 years and why he isn't in the team currently, his injuries. The guy is always injured and totally unreliable. You simply cannot expect him to be available for most of the season anymore unfortunately.
  19. Thinking back to the last time we were decent defensively in the 5th place season and it's easy to forget we had two stay home full backs in Simpson and for at least about a half of the season R.Taylor. We also had Cabaye who apart from the odd occasion later in the season played very deep and made plenty of tackles. We had the good version of Tiote before he turned shit. We had Jonas who was playing as a very defensive winger most of the time and doing a very good job of it (stoke away as the perfect example). So when you compare that to now it's easy to see that there are far more elements to this poor defence than simply saying our centre backs are poor. Hate to drone on but again most of this is down to the manager and how he setting up the team. We can still field Williamson/Taylor, Colo,Santon,Krul, Cabaye,Tiote and Jonas from those that were here in a defensive sense from the 5th placed season. It is not the personal it is how they are being set up and trained.
  20. Wish we hadn't practically given Forster away. Looks quality everytime i've seen him. (not often I admit )

    Alan Pardew

I bet when we finally get rid (please god) their will be no decent managers left available
  22. Yeah. It was alarming to see it put like that, fantastic analysis though. The confusing thing is, I'm sure we weren't organised that way against Villa, we looked far more compact, disciplined and focused. Perhaps they were just crap, Pardew's tried to change it a bit or the players are tactically poor. The gap between our holding midfielders and defenders was crap as well, so much so that they couldn't compensate for us playing so far apart. Space galore for Everton's attackers. Yeah I was at that villa game and Santon and Debuchy very rarely bombed forward. It was a very disciplined and well drilled unit that day.

    Alan Pardew

The fact he now has pundits on tv like last night being utterly baffled about how poor we are defensively, picking apart basic stuff like team shape and how it was the opposite to what Pardew had said pre-match etc. I think that will start to help sway those that haven't figured out for themselves yet that he is a poor manager.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

great fans, sorry I just figured he'd seen that fat lump who loves taking his shirt off all the time. Ben Arfa looking in the mirror? seriously though even though he still has speed he's still looking top heavy and seemed to be blowing after about 10mins
  25. He didn't hide but I was watching him closely and he used to win tackle after tackle in his first season. Last night when someone was coming towards him he would get himself square on and they would knock it round him fairly easily on a lot of occasions. The only time he seemed to win tackles was late in the game when we began to gain a little momentum.
