I honestly don't think he was that bad yesterday. Against Hull he was terrible and I slagged him off for it. But despite his no show defensively he was atleast trying when he got the ball last night and showed good pace. Still looked disgruntled, maybe because he'd been shunted to the left or maybe he's having personal issues. Who knows.

Don't think most on here would agree with him making so many changes to the team that beat Villa. Not only personal but positional as well.
  3. Mike did very well last night and probably earned a start going by Pardews comments. The problem is the next game is probably one of the worst games for him to be involved in as Cardiff have small quick strikers like Campbell and Bellamy.

Wasn't a great second half performance but it was the bare minimum we should expect in that finally we had someone attacking and winning defensive headers, players closing down properly in midfield and someone in Cabaye to get it down and move the ball forward faster. We got a great individual strike and a somewhat scrappy late 2nd which capped a decent 2nd half display. But I think it was a simply fact of catching Everton sleeping a little as they probably didn't expect to do a thing based on the first half.
  5. Probably our most consistent player this year. Never going to hit the heights of any inform Remy or Ben Arfa but he never has a terrible game or anything. Shame he hit the post, don't think he did a great deal wrong with that chance.

Well we tend to look that way when Ben Arfa isn't playing. Surprised we created what we did to be fair.

If he gets phased out for Pardews mate Tiote I'll be fuming. Tiote is a joke these days and shouldn't be near the starting 11. Do not start both of them together ever again Pardew please.
  8. Please don't play both Anita and Tiote alongside eachother. Infact just don't play Tiote please.

Did you watch the game? this is flat out not true. He lost it once or twice but more times than he lost it he got round the outside of Coleman and the one time he switched with Sissoko to go central he beat his man and had a decent shot. Pardew taking him off could be a number of things: he got mouthy at halftime and questioned tactics?, he was injured?, or pardew was annoyed with his selfishness and/or lack of work ethic. He was the only player trying to make something happen for us in that first half. The fact it's been 2 years running now that Pardew has refused to play him in his usual position because he's scared of Baines really annoys me. For 1, once baines was on a yellow card Ben Arfa should have been switched immediately to try and get him sent off by taking him on. Secondly if he was so scared of what Baines would do going forward surely him having Ben Arfa behind him would have meant he couldn't attack as much anyway.

was his full debut, new to the league, so opponents didnt know him as well. Was more agile and quick pre-leg break and basically just had an epic game.
  11. Colo - comfortable on the ball, tends to read the game well to make interceptions but is physically weak, small and slow. Yanga-Mbiwa - physically not that strong or tall but sometimes shows good recovery pace. Can read situations well at times but seems to have massive lapses in concentration on a regular basis. Taylor - Slow but generally strong in the air. Prone to errors and injury from time to time. Plays with heart and usually in the right place to make blocks. Williamson - Tragic with the ball, slow. Strong in the air but occasionally beaten physically and in the air by smaller opponents. Fairly steady when alongside Colo for a small period of games. Not the strongest set of defenders.

I will say the one time he was allowed to drift inside he beat his man and got a dangerous shot off. I slagged him off for the Hull performance but I'm not going to criticise him for tonight.
  13. Like Debuchy they have either been told to get forward constantly or they are bother fucking idiots in terms of defensive positioning.
  14. It's been close to a decade since Taylor defended as bad as Colo and MYM did tonight. There's no excuse for that fucking shit tonight. And Aguero? He's a strong lad and a brilliant footballer with a low centre of gravity, why bring him into it? Thought he like the rest of them were equally useless in the 0-6 liverpool game last year.

Yeah I wonder if he got mouthy at half time or if he was injured because I can't help feel we would have been even better 2nd half if he had stayed on instead of Tiote or Sissoko and put back in his best position. Still don't get why he hasn't been allowed to have a go at baines for 2 seasons running now.
  16. Not sure what has happened since the season we came 5th but we've been poor at the back ever since. Gary Neville just said what I'm always thinking, that we defend like we are a top level team with full backs bombing on and massive spaces all over the place. I'd gladly prefer our defenders to keep a tight unit away from home and try and nick a goal rather than this gung ho style we have at the moment. Needs back to basics coaching almost because it's shambolic how easy it is to score against us.

Didn't try to defend the un-defendable which was good I suppose. Sounds like Mapou is out the team.

if he was hooked for not making a big impact from the left wing then that's shocking from Pardew. If he's injured then fair enough.

So do I. First time since souness I've been torn between us getting back in to the game and the opposition banging another couple in. This f***er is worse than souness though. I've given up thinking like that since the liverpool game. I thought ok we've just been spanked 0-6 at home to those wankers but there is no way pardew can survive this now...........ofcourse he did. So yeah i'd rather we not get battered now as I don't believe it would lead to his dismissal anymore.
  20. Colo also has games like this where he seems intimidated by faster stronger opponents and struggles but thought Mapou was more at fault for all 3 goals.

    Alan Pardew

Complete idiot. He raved on about how good we were against Villa to everyone who would listen and the sets up the team like that for the next away game? Is Baines really that good that we haven't allowed Ben Arfa to have a single run against him for two seasons running now? Bringing back Tiote who has become one of the least effective DM's going these days.
  22. I like mapou and when he's good he's very good but he's been involved in some of the worst defensive displays i've ever seen in his short time with us so far. Fully deserved to be hooked at half time. You can't defend like that and be allowed to get away with it.
  23. Fair play Cabaye and Williamson in that 2nd half. Gouffran too. 1st half is up their with the liverpool game last season. You defend like that at any level you don't deserve anything from the game.
  24. We've got to plug our defensive leaks because we look good for a goal every game.
  25. Annoying me even more now that we're playing well now. So fucking mentally weak our players. When it's going bad they crumble
