To be honest I don't think people like the idea of Ben Arfa going home for treatment either. Especially after the condition he came back in last time.
-
Aye, all this. I like to think you saw this and forgot it was you who said it and just thought, yeah this guy gets it
-
Yeah Can't really think of one I would want. I guess maybe Riley or Dowd as I don't think they have fucked us over as much as the others if memory serves.

Not to mention the fact he's our best CB. Currently he's our best fit CB for the next game, Colo is obviously the best CB at the club. I'm guessing this is what you meant? In a sense, yes. Though Colo's days as a PL-level athlete are done. What does that make Taylor though? Arguably slower than Colo and can't remember the last time he had a run of games without getting injured. Taylor's a much better athlete, and far quicker. 2008 when Taylor often found himself at right back I would 100% agree with you. But maybe it's injuries or something but I can't agree he is far quicker now, turns like a tanker and will never catch a striker like Mapou sometimes can. The only attributes I would give him over Colo is his physicality and aerial ability.

To be honest whoever is appointed referee could have a massive influence on the game. It's disgusting that that's the case but it's true. You know if we get certain refs then we can almost assume we'll have something like a soft red card against us, soft penalty, perfectly fine goal disallowed etc. Seems to be the case far too often with certain "top" refs like Howard Webb and Martin Atkinson.

Hope Hatem flicks the switch and kicks into form to terrorise them like he did 2 years ago with that 2nd half nutmeg marathon on Richardson

Yeah I don't agree with the "take a draw for every derby because it means you don't lose" If that was the case then you would miss out on all those great days like the 5:1. Sure occasionally you have to take the good with the bad and you may once in a while get a horrible day like last season but surely it's worth it for the joy of when we beat them. Plus if you look at recent history, I'm always far more confident we will beat them than they will beat us and would see a draw as minimum for home games and see it as a decent result for away games against them. Last year we were just a mess and they caught us on a day where we seemed to be hungover from being dumped out of Europe. Our lot weren't up for it, Sunderland were with their new manager giving them a boost and not to mention we had a perfect goal ruled out to make it 1-1 and they basically scored with each shot they had. The chances of lots of factors like that all conspiring against us again are slim in my opinion. Also think were a stronger side this year.

Just don't get anyone stupidly sent off or allow that fucker Johnson to have free shots and I think we'll win. Centre back is obviously a concern though despite Dummetts good performance

Worse yet is because those wankers at bt showed the game, it meant sky couldn't show any extended highlights on match choice and I assume goals on Sunday won't either.
-
Apart from the great goal, you know he's in good form when he's putting perfectly weighted through balls through like the one for Remy yesterday.

The missing piece from the floated set penis

In a normal match most of the fouls today wouldn't be yellows. However because he set a precedent for soft yellows early on, he can't then change his mind because it's Gerrard.

Yeah, one of the few things I agree with Owen about but he should have got his body more infront of skirtel and maybe taken a touch. Was a great run though and a fantastic pass from Cabaye.
-
Real shame. Seemed on his way to rebuilding his confidence with a solid first half. Tiote has done his mate no favours because he's played on Suarez and that's led to Mapou panic and desperate try to get back at Suarez. Hope this doesn't set him back even further as he could of had a run of games but now he's banned.
-
Always hate Andre Marriner. He just sets a tone for the game with booking someone for something really soft early on and then has to book every single player afterwards. Because he did that though he then bottled it when Gerrard should have had a 2nd yellow. If he was following what he had done earlier in the game then Gerrard should have walked.

Cissokho got the better of him a few times but he worked his socks off for the team.
-
Looks so much better when he's more considered in his breaks forward. Today he wasn't bombing forward leaving massive gaps everywhere and it helped the team a lot.
-
Been in fantastic form since that 2nd half at Everton. He and Tiote looked back to 2 years ago today. Tiote would crunch someone then simply leave it for Cabaye who would take over. The way it should be and hope it continues.
-
Yeah our system was simply working better than theirs first half. Once we were down to 10 it allowed them to keep the ball and cause more problems.
-
That chance when he had Remy and Ben Arfa with him and decided to shoot himself Pardew had his head in his hands.
-
did think whoa don't take off Cabaye but he must have been struggling. Fair play got the tactics spot on first half and we were the better team. Then maybe it was just the going down to 10 men that pulled the team together to hang on 2nd half and made them all fight for the cause but I'll give him credit for that too.
-
Struggled. Showed glimpses of that position working well early in the first half but with the way things went, going down to 10, it's impossible to really judge.
