Yeah corners were a waste considering how many we had. Agreed that there are some overly negative comments this morning. Yes it's frustrating that was can't seem to see out games properly like previous seasons but you can see we are trying to do the right things and rotate players where possible etc. It's not brilliant but there is enough there to see where we can improve. Wissa coming back should help alot. Tino and Hall's return has already had a big positive impact. We were threatening to steamroll spurs last night but it just didn't fully clock in the final third. We missed Bruno's creativity first half and a couple of passes and his goal in the second proved that. However losing Tonali is always is going to have a negative impact on us defensively. And maybe it's mentality but we sit in after we scored each time. Having Wissa or even Osula to help add energy would have helped. Although felt we should have put Ramsey or Willock in after we went 2:1 up.

Yeah feels like a defeat. Felt we needed a sub after 2:1 to add legs to midfield. Seemed reluctant to trust Willock or Ramsey. Felt Ramsdale should have anticipated and shuffled over to that side incase it got through. Also felt it was a foul on Thiaw in the build up but that was probably asking for too much after we got the soft pen. Sort of game we missed having Wissa as fresh striker to bring on. Bruno was excellent. Hope Tonali injury isn't serious.

Who is the drip in the Xmas suit on the overlap?. I rarely watch it but I've seen clips of him being an embarrassing representative of Newcastle fans before. Might be paranoia but feels like the media would do that on purpose. Let's get the most idiotic fan we can find so we can all laugh at Newcastle.

The anxiety of still losing somehow is making me sick. Surely can't lose it from here. Just keep doing what we're doing and go and get another goal 2nd half on the counter to guarantee it.

N'diaye always cause us problems with his dribbling and athleticism.
-
Gordon has always been tragic against these. Would be starting him on the bench. Can't see us getting anything at all. But will always hope.

It was fairly predictable that pundits would start coming up with excuses for them. I'm sure it was very sad for them to lose a teammate and has had some level of impact. But to point to it as the sole main reason for their decline is ignoring all the other evidence. Truth is they rode a wave of momentum last year when other teams were failing, Slot just had to tweak the Klopp team to be a little bit more conservative and it worked. They had Salah in the form of his life, (still convinced he was using some performance enhancers, and now he's had to come off the cycle and already has his contract we are seeing the drop off). Also had alot of luck with injuries and the reality is that whilst on paper it looked like they had an amazing transfer window this summer, it's actually negatively impacted the team in a variety of manners and for that Slot we have to take the blame as these are his signings and his tactics. I'm sure they will probably win the next couple against weaker opposition but it doesn't look like they have any hope of winning the league or Champions league and after all that money spent that is a major under performance.

I know this is a stupid question as it's been the same story with Gordon for a year, but how is he not getting a shot away from that Willock cross. Looked like he just had to tap it in with his left but tried to control it with his right and missed the ball. Zero striking instincts on that guy whatsoever. Lost count of the the amount of games we probably should have won if we had a proper striker playing instead of him. Villa away, Liverpool home, Barcelona at home etc.

wouldn't mind seeing that offside again, looked on to me but they never showed the lines.

If we can't score more than one goal away then we are likely to keep losing. We keep getting early goals but we need to be way more clinical with our chances to take advantage and then manage the game out. At one nil we always give a home team chance to overturn, especially when Pope keeps doing stupid shit like that. He's cost us a fair few goals this season now. We're getting turned over at Everton unless some dramatic fortune goes our way.
-
When these are the facts then it's really hard to argue why Gordon always gets priority at LW over Barnes. Even when they are on the pitch together it's always Barnes who gets shoved to RW. Gordon has alot of qualities he can bring to the team but his output in the final 3rd is miles behind Barnes. I think Howe has been a bit blinded by Gordon's pressing and work rate for too long. Barnes should be first choice.
-
If he can stay fit between now and the end of the season I think he's on the plane for the world cup. Wouldn't have been in question if he hadn't been injured for so long ever since his first call up but he's the best young left back in the country, none of this Skelly Arsenal bias nonsense.
-
How on earth does he just slot back in like that after 6+ weeks out injured like he's never been away and plays 90 mins against some of the best wide men in the league. Such a gem of a player. Great to have him and Hall back at the same time. Just a shame Trippier and Krafth both missing then so we can't ease them both back in.
-
What happened to the days where a player on a yellow who just got away with a 2nd yellow and penalty against him isn't hooked immediately the next moment the ball is out of play? The fact he doesn't trust Hall still, despite being one of our best players last season when given his chance in the team is frustrating as hell. He often makes subs far too late when the momentum is shifting. Not that we had great options off the bench anyways. Trust Eddie to turn it around and any noise about him being binned can get fucked. But away from home we are such a soft touch and we have to sort it out and 2 points off 18th is concerning.
-
I think his top end speed has gone due to injuries but unfortunately that was the main strength he had. Without it he just looks a painfully average player. Hope I'm wrong but it's telling how little he has played so far.
-
I think it could close to that. But can't see any way Eddie is starting Elanga ahead of Murphy or Barnes on current form.

Sounds like a bunch of entitled pricks. Any grown adults who want to "wait outside a footballers house and teach them a lesson" is pretty pathetically low. If I have misread the context of that post and this was some sort of skit then forgive me

No doubts wearing the shite green kit again at the weekend.

Didn't even think he was that bad against West Ham. No worse than anyone else. Was just that he was up against a good 1v1 defender who can match him for pace and as we have seen before, when that happens, Gordon doesn't seem to have enough about him to find alternate ways to be effective. He has really struggled to get going in the league so far though. Part of that was from playing as striker rather than out wide. But he needs to do more to live up to his own hype. Certainly has looked better for England this season but I think that's the more the level of opposition again. It's easier up against slower weaker opponents.

The derby comes straight after a champions League away game doesn't it. Not looking forward to the inevitable.
-
I know we need to rotate and I know Spurs had a couple of dodgy results but in the main they look half decent this year, especially away from home. That line up is probably weaker than the one we put up against Bradford. Eddie won't be looking to take risks with getting knocked out the cup we are the holders of. Think it will be fairly full strength vs Spurs.
-
Feels harsh that he lost the shirt through injury but that's he way it is unfortunately. Main issue getting back in, apart from Thiaw and Botman forming a good partnership, is that without Tino, Thiaw is the only stopping us having the slowest backline in the league
-
Full backs are hurting us at the moment, especially Burn. He should be viewed like Botman as a CB only and if we don't have a left back then we need to change formation or play a youngster there like other teams would. But the flat midfield three standing ahead of their midfielders time after time away from home just seemed unnecessarily risky. They played through us so easily again and again and then our slow back line is exposed. Also attacking wise we look alright to a point but then in the final third it seems to fall down. Took an impressive improvised finish to get us anything.

So fucking sick of Brighton. Didn't even celebrate our goal as I knew there was still time for them to do their usual. Defending for both goals was poor. Welbeck seems to score against us every fucking time. Ugh.
