The only thing Llambias meant when he was talking about "being an Aston Villa" was that their owner didn't spent very much at all in their first two seasons, helped balance the debt, and then slowly moved forward. But, if you hate Ashley you're not really willing to look at that anyway. Ashley won't make money until we are challenging in the league, why can't anyone see that? The past regime pocketed over 150 millions pounds while Ashley has pocketed ZERO so far. He's not penny pinching for the sake of lining his own pockets, he's making sure the club is on an even keel before we push forward and make our moves up the table. It has been almost three years since Lerner bought the Villains and they are just now moving up the league. Cut Ashley some slack and let him balance the books before we start calling for his head. In the next year or two we're going to have one of the best academies producing youngsters in the country and we'll be making our way up the table. That's what their "five year plan" is all about; keep us in the Prem, funnel through very useful youngsters, and slowly invest in the team in a competent and responsible manner.

If anything a few hundred people marching together to the match may create some sorely needed atmosphere. This is the most laughable excuse ever. It may not affect the squad during the Everton match, but what about the match after, or after that, when negative headlines are being thrown about in the papers? It will create a negative atmosphere around the club, which will ultimately affect our squad during the run in for the final 12 matches, not necessarily the Everton match. Like sicko2ndbest said in his original post, these people protesting need to grow the fuck up. What is more important? Premier League survival or your Protesters Group? Get your priorities straight for the rest of the season and let's get behind the team - they need us more than ever. Of course relegation has to be the supporters fault. Stay away from colourful wrappers dear. Of course it's not the supporters' fault - but we can do all we can to make sure it doesn't happen. Protesting doesn't help at all and is extremely childish.

Team and country really get motivated for the Mexico match. To be fair, the US has a lot of players in foreign leagues now too. There is a lot of American talent playing abroad and getting good European experience - they are definitely much better than they were 2-5 years ago. Also, I remember us being in for Bradley last summer. Too bad I guess! 15 in 55 from midfield when he played for Heerenveen (and 5 in 27 for the National Team).

Hope you've been watching some of the Spain game... They aren't playing a team that has any realistic chance of winning the cup. Both Brazil and Argentina have beaten "world beaters" this week - and handidly.

Surely, after tonight's performance (and last night's), it will be either Brazil or Argentina lifting the cup in 2010?
