This move really boggles my mind. I could understand it if were a squad in a much better position than us (a Man Utd, Chelsea, even Aston Villa/Everton) but Man City? Come off it. It really pisses me off that Shay isn't taking a step up, but actually taking a step sideways towards one of our direct competitors.

This will be a very underwhelming signing but I think he'll soon enough win over the fans. I heard from an old Newcastle player once that all you have to do is "go out there and try your hardest and the Newcastle fans will love you" (paraphrase obviously). Kevin Nolan fits this bill to the T. He goes out and puts in an honest shift every time he's on the pitch, he battles for every ball and he has experience of being a club captain - not to mention he can chip in with a few goals from time to time. He will soon enough win over the naysayers.

Too bad Barton's not in for this match, he would definitely help make it a proper derby match. I hope we get a win out of this because it could definitely turn our season around.

Really excited for Harper. I always rated him as the more "loyal" servant to our club and now he's getting his big chance should Shay go. It will be a good day to see Harper walk out with the #1 on his back.

I have always rated Huddlestone. Really composed on the ball and makes a lot of space for himself to have tons of time on the ball. He can also really pick a pass and also isn't afraid to have a rip on goal. All things we're sorely lacking in midfield.

Three things about Tottenham that I reckon would attract players: 1) It's in London. 2) Out of the London teams, they're the most "on the up" as far as public image goes (regardless of actual results/reality). 3) Out of the "big" London teams it's the one that any mid-level player could look at and possibly play for regularly because they couldn't break into Arsenal/Chelsea/whatever.
