  1. I think the US top is dreadful. Could do without the red collar and all the polychromy. But, yes, the sash is quite reminiscent of the shirt worn in 1950. I wonder if the design was chosen because the US is playing England in the World Cup. It was. And since I can't double quote, I'll just point out that the home jersey has been leaked, just not released yet. http://cdn.majorleaguesoccertalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/USA-world-cup-2010-nike-shirt-leaked.jpg Like that one much more than the Red one. The blue one is pretty decent though too.
  2. The fact that it's Jenas modeling for England isn't as mind boggling as the fact that the England kit is the only non-Nike kit in that picture.
  3. Going to be Liverpool but would much rather it be the blue half of Merseyside.
  4. Don't think so. There have been a few matches that have been on ESPN360 here in the States that weren't on TV in the UK.
  5. http://www.argentinepost.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Carlos-Bianchi-1.jpg
  6. I'd give him a run out in some friendlies - unless Capello is going to try and get a 4-5-1 going.
  7. Nowt to do with his performances for his country then. He's 22 man. 3 years older than Nile Ranger. Do you think Ranger will be in double figures for his country in 3 years? No, because the depth of the England national team is far too deep for him to break in so early.
  8. Would love Donovan here but he'll be costing 10m+ unfortunately.
  9. Was actually at this match and yeah there were some glorious missed chances. They almost passed themselves out of that winning goal too. They were all very hesitant to pull the trigger (but then again when they did it was shit anyway).
  10. Really really don't rate Bendtnar for the reasons stated above. Only reason he is rated is because of the team surrounding him.
  11. Would definitely look to loan him for the rest of the season. Makes a lot of sense.
  12. lktmpl, your original point was sound - don't let madras wind you up and degrade your original point, that's his sole purpose in this particular instance.
  13. There's a lot of hard work in becoming a professional athlete but it's equal parts luck and who you know as well.
  14. Throwing around three match bans for bad tackles is a bit ridiculous, imo. Bans should only come in for excessively violent or dangerous conduct. I don't think anyone is really talking about "bad tackles" in the box. When I hear "last-man foul" I see them blatantly trying to stop an almost for-sure goal (regardless of how cynical the challenge is). If you get the tackle right the stakes are just as high as getting it wrong. Don't go in for it if you're not ready to deal with the outcome. It's a pretty simple rule (and rightly in place). If you soften this rule you will see many more over the top/cynical challenges hacking down guys in and around the box. If you're the last man and you get the tackle wrong you are rightly sent for an early bath.
  15. Carroll is frustrating as hell, and it's chances like that which make me think he's not really that good at all.
  16. all depends, if the person brings the player down deliberately then yes, but if their is a genuine attempt to go for the ball then it shouldn't be Wrong, get the tackle the right and you won't have to be sent off.
