A lot of his underrated-ness comes from the position he plays. It's kind of like reffing in the sense that the best ones you don't notice. Being a CB isn't about being flashy so they don't really get all of the plaudits that a winger or striker normally get. The fact that he's underrated is a good thing because it means he's not making mistakes and being noticed outright for doing the wrong thing too often. That being said, I don't like the cut of his jib but I can't deny he's a world class CB.
