Eddie may have other plans: After the match, head coach Eddie Howe warned: “Write him off at your peril for sure because he comes back time and time again. “He's a very motivated player and wants to do his very best at every moment. I've managed him for a very long time now and mentality wise I wouldn't swap him. He's a monster, he's got a focus and when he's got a goal he'll go for it.” Wilson has just over a year remaining on his contract at Newcastle and has been linked with a move away from the club. But Howe made his feelings very clear on the situation. “Of course, I want him at the club next season, I'll do everything I can to make that happen.”

Despite obviously feeling absolutely gutted after the final whistle, all credit to Vincent Kompany with his post-match honesty: “We came up against a good side today. “We came up against a better team. “There was no lack of effort from our side, we fought hard. “We had the opportunity maybe in the first 15 minutes to make use of our momentum a little bit better, but after that, credit to Newcastle for their attacking play. “Also, credit to my players for the fact that they never gave up. “They just kept going. “That’s got to count for something, when you still have a game that can decide things. “I don’t know if it was a penalty (Assignon throwing himself to the ground with only slight contact from Bruno). “But in the context of this game, it was not a one-goal decider. “It was three goals difference. “So we have to put everything back in place in that sense. “We played against a better team. “It is as simple as that.” -
Imagine if he’d had less injury time out!

Yeah he’s slotted in nicely at RCB. Happier with him there than RB.
