  1. Lot of disrespect was directed at this guy; often their best player now and a great dressing room leader. I’ll never not choose to die on the “Tarkowski is a fantastic player” hill .
  2. Tarkowski, Coady, Onana, Gueye, Garner, McNeil, Vinaigre and Maupay were all decent to very good purchases. Similar to our business in January, the majority of their signings were good honest pros with PL experience. Reasonable fees paid out too.
  3. Everton have bought really sensibly imo.
  4. That fact that we’ve only lost once with the injuries and the state of our back-up options is a testament to Howe tbh. There’s a good 15 players on our books that wouldn’t pull-up any trees in the championship.
  5. We have around 11 players in our 25 man squad that are actually PL quality. Still so far away from where we want to be, unfortunately.
  6. Longstaff, Almiron, Fraser, Willock and Wood are “important” players for us. Is it any wonder why we look so damn average?
  7. Trash. We could be playing for 2 more hours and still not score.
  8. 9th is our ceiling this season. Mediocre squad, not enough attacking quality off the bench.
  9. We’re very very average. Need at least 3 decent players.
  10. We’ll still get a draw, probably. Not good enough.
  11. Our wingers, as expected, have been pretty uninspiring so far.
  12. Yup. No goodwill from me; guy threw a fit and forced a move to a more glamorous bench, leaving us short. Imagine if Darlow got his injury 2 weeks later than he did. It’s petty but I’d find it hilarious if he doesn’t get a single game for them.

    Loris Karius

Watched a YouTube video about him a few weeks ago funnily enough; "what happened to Karius", or somethingto that effect. Seems like he was mentally broken after that game and things have just been getting progressively worse for him.
  14. He'd be mad not to take it imho. Not denying his talent, but how much bigger a club could Potter realistically get? Say he says no, and Brighton fall off spectacularly this or next season. He could get sacked and then that's it, done, it's over for him in terms of getting that top top job (which Chelsea is). The job security of any PL manager is incredibly volatile, you need to cash out when your stock is high. Regardless of Chelsea's proclivity towards sacking managers, he'll be paid well, have a huge budget to play with and actually have a chance to win things. More celebrated managers than Potter have "failed" there and their reputations remained largely intact.
  15. Maddison is probably one of the best players in the world that we could realistically bring in at this time. Would be a sensational signing imo. Isak was a massive statement of intent, JM would be another one. We'd be a cm/cdm and, sure, a fair few good cover options away from being genuine top 6 contenders imo.
  16. You DHgaters will be the reason we don't sign a world class midfielder in the January window.
  17. Miggy's just about fine for now; he's decent presser and quick on the break. That fact that we already have someone in Tripper on the right side that can put in quality balls makes his workrate useful for something, at least. When maxi's gone though our left side really lacks any kind of goal threat.
  18. They definitely have a better squad than us but a worse manager. Interesting to see how this plays out; would love us to set down a marker as being one of the best "other 14" clubs currently but I feel we're set for another draw/1 goal loss.
  19. 1 goal in this game. Hope it's us. Lacking quality all over the field here.
