It’s 80m euros tbf. In any case you’d expect to overpay for world-class talent (and I’d just about put him in that bracket) so you’re the only team in the conversation. If he’s going for anything resembling a bargain then you’ll get a lot of competition from “bigger” clubs for his signature.

Raphinha would be an absolutely perfect signing. Can’t see him trading Barcelona for us though, unfortunately.

If Diaby is being quoted as 60m+ then 70m for Raphinha is a decent price. Much more suited to our play and PL-ready.

It’s funny but I suppose Fat Sam kind of makes sense with the games they have left. Shoring up their defence and grafting to some bore-draws may well save them.

Fati is finished*, man. Injuries have destroyed his pace and agility. *as a world class prospect I mean. Still obviously young enough to forge a very good career for himself but I’d hope we’re not in for him at that price. Guy’s living off his initial hype at the moment.

I’d say the same about Southampton and Hasenhüttl. Selles is absolutely hopeless.

If the rumoured price is 50m then we’d be getting a bit of a dud in Ugarte. As I’ve said before, he’s so frustrating to watch; dawdles too much on the ball and even in acres of space he’ll usually give a hospital pass to players right next to him. If Howe can get him to look up and pass through the lines quickly, he could become a decent 6 for our system but you’d hope you’re getting somebody ready-made for that kind of fee.

K. Thuram looks a like real talent though imo.
