Speaking on young players; I think a few of us are writing off Willock a bit too soon as well. I get that his passing has been a bit shaky but the guy is still 21 and had just made a big move up from London, had no preseason and by all accounts was dealing with some injuries. Despite that he still played well enough to keep Bruno out of the team for a bit and we achieved a lot of great results with him starting. This could be his season, hopefully.

Almiron has his uses; he’s fast and his work-rate is unmatched. Unfortunately we all know he plays like his boots are 2 sizes too big and has zero footballing iq.

Hate to say it but I reckon it’s very very unlikely that we get Paqueta (this window at least). What I can see is someone like Broja on loan and using the leftover funds for a monster offer on Diaby.

I think this one might be a goer. The guy needs consistent game-time, is the type of age we’re targeting and Chelsea would probably be willing to do a deal. If we’re really in for him we could get this done reasonably quickly you’d hope.

CHO would be amazing. Injury record is a bit suspect but he’d be a massive coup.

Seems very coachable this lad, and looks like he has a great attitude and work ethic. I like him as a ball-carrier but he would need to improve his end product (the kid’s 20 so that should come). 35m seems on the high side but you’re paying for potential and PL experience. The fume from Everton fans would be delicious too. I’m in.

Yeah, fair enough. Not sure he’s worth any more than 35, but it’s nice to be in a situation where we can bully little old Everton.

Apparently Olise at Palace has a 35m release clause. Would imagine/ hope that we’d be all over that if we can’t push the Diaby fee down.

Yeah. Seen him play a few times and, while he looks direct and exciting, there’s nothing to suggest he’s a 50m pound player. Very raw. I don’t think there’s that much between him and Sarr currently; remember Sarr was being talked about in the same way Diaby is now, before his move to Watford. Would say though Diaby has the higher ceiling, in theory.

Nah we’ll finish 9th imo, and that’s with the assumption that we’ll sign Diaby (or whoever) and a young striker on loan. If we get Tielemens/ Sucic/ Thuram I’d say 7th or 8th.
